Street Reconstruction Project 19-1 – 4 miles of residential streets

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Herb Thielbar, who can be reached at 763-274-2580 (office) or 612-716-4214 (cell). Work planned for the week of September 23 includes asphalt base paving on streets within the phase 3 area located north of and including 131st Avenue between Crooked Lake Boulevard and Coon Creek Boulevard. Irrigation repairs and boulevard restorations will take place on remaining phase 3 area streets following asphalt base paving.

New sidewalk construction is planned to begin September 23 for the north side of 131st Avenue from west of Coon Creek to Crooked Lake Boulevard. 

Street Reconstruction Project 19-2 – 2.3 miles of MSA streets (Foley Boulevard from 115th Avenue to 124th Avenue, Wedgewood Drive from Main Street to Round Lake Boulevard, Olive Street from 121st Avenue to Main Street) 

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction. The Contractor's main contact is Dan Bodza, who can be reached at 612-248-7760 (cell). Rene Garcia (612-360-4707) with Park Construction is the Contractor point of contact for watermain pipe replacements. Jon Halter with Hakanson Anderson is the City’s full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Jon can be reached at 612-282-0725 (cell).

Work planned for the week of September 23 includes asphalt pavement reclamation on Wedgewood Drive, and potentially paving the first lift of new asphalt pavement on this street by the end of next week.

The final lift of asphalt pavement is planned to be installed on Olive Street on Monday, September 23.

New curb and gutter installations are planned next week for the east side of Foley Boulevard. Work will continue all next week on the Sand Creek culvert replacements.

To accommodate the Sand Creek culvert replacements, Foley Boulevard is closed at the Sand Creek crossing south of 118th Avenue. A posted detour is currently in place from Northdale Boulevard to 121st Avenue via University Avenue (local access will be maintained). 

Street Reconstruction Project 19-3 – 3.3 miles of residential streets 

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Ryan Kerr, who can be reached at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). Jason Huebscher is the City’s full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work during the week of September 23 includes sod installations in the Phase 1B area (Bridgewater neighborhood consisting of Alder Street, Butternut Street, Cottonwood Street, 116th Avenue, 116th Lane, and 117th Avenue).

Grading and concrete removals are planned for the northbound lanes of Springbrook Drive and Holly Street between 93rd Avenue and Springbrook Drive.

Remaining concrete and driveway restorations are planned for Mississippi Boulevard (Hanson Boulevard to Ibis Street). The first lift of asphalt pavement on this street is tentatively planned by the end of next week.

Boulevard restorations will take place on Flora Street north of 109th Lane (adjacent to the Coon Rapids Ice Center).

Utility replacements are planned for the East River Road Service Road between Larch Street and 84th Lane.

Port Riverwalk Development Project 19-12 – Grading, Erosion Control, and Turf Establishment 

The Contractor for this project is North Pine Aggregate. The Contractor's main contact is Jake Jensen, who can be reached at 651-888-7907 (office) or 612-770-6682 (cell). Work during the week of September 23 includes continued removals and mass grading for the new Port Riverwalk development. Avocet Street within the development project area is planned to be permanently closed to all traffic next week. Local traffic will continue to be able to use Zilla Street/East River Boulevard and Egret Boulevard to access Coon Rapids Boulevard. 

Anoka County Project – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass

Hanson Boulevard is a County road in Coon Rapids (north of Coon Rapids Boulevard). The County’s Contractor for this project is C.S McCrossan. Harry Grams is the County’s Construction Supervisor, and can be contacted at 763-324-3114.
