Street Reconstruction Project 19-1 – 4 miles of residential streets

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Herb Thielbar, who can be reached at 763-274-2580 (office) or 612-716-4214 (cell). Work during the week of August 26 will include asphalt base course paving on streets south of and including 131st Avenue from the bridge over Coon Creek west to Crooked Lake Boulevard. Curb removals and utility/curb replacements will take place on Area 3 streets north of 131st Avenue and east of Coon Creek. Driveway replacements are planned for Area 3 streets located south of 131st Avenue. Areas 1 and 2 are both complete.

Street Reconstruction Project 19-2 – 2.3 miles of MSA streets (Foley Boulevard from 115th Avenue to 124th Avenue, Wedgewood Drive from Main Street to Round Lake Boulevard, Olive Street from 121st Avenue to Main Street) 

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction. The Contractor's main contact is Dan Bodza, who can be reached at 612-248-7760 (cell). Rene Garcia (612-360-4707) with Park Construction is the Contractor point of contact for watermain pipe replacements. Work planned for the week of August 26 includes boulevard restorations on Olive Street from 121st Avenue to Main Street. Work on the east side of Foley Boulevard includes asphalt pavement reclamation from Northdale Boulevard to south of Main Street. Utility replacements on Wedgewood Drive will continue all next week.

Replacement of Sand Creek culverts located underneath Foley Boulevard between 117th and 118th Avenues is planned to begin on September 3. To accommodate the work, Foley Boulevard will be closed at the Sand Creek crossing south of 118th Avenue. A posted detour will be in place from Northdale Boulevard to 121st Avenue via University Avenue (local access will be maintained). The closure is expected to last until September 30, weather permitting. 

Street Reconstruction Project 19-3 – 3.3 miles of residential streets 

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Ryan Kerr, who can be reached at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). Jason Huebscher is the City’s full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work during the week of August 26 will include placement of asphalt base course on all streets within the Phase 1B area (Bridgewater neighborhood consisting of Alder Street, Butternut Street, Cottonwood Street, 116th Avenue, 116th Lane, and 117th Avenue). Boulevard restorations and irrigation system repairs will also take place within this area.

Remaining concrete work and irrigation repairs will take place on the west side (southbound direction) of Springbrook Drive.

Water service connections will be restored on Mississippi Boulevard between Hanson Boulevard and Ibis Street.

Work on the watermain system extension along Flora Street north of 109th Lane (adjacent to the Coon Rapids Ice Center) will continue.

Trail Reconstruction Project 19-9 – Erlandson Park Pedestrian Bridge & Dahlia Park Culvert Installation

Work during the week of August 26 includes final restoration and trail paving at the new pedestrian bridge in Erlandson Park near 111th Avenue and Avocet Street. Restorations and trail replacement/paving will also occur within Dahlia Park west of Direct River Drive. Trail access remains closed in both areas.

Trail Reconstruction Project 19-11 – Wedgewood Trail, Nelson Park Trails, and Trackside Park Trails 

The Contractor for this project is Northwest Asphalt. The Contractor's main contact is John Hamers, who can be reached at 952-445-1003 (office) or 952-292-8471 (cell). This project is substantially complete.

Port Riverwalk Development Project 19-12 – Grading, Erosion Control, and Turf Establishment 

The Contractor for this project is North Pine Aggregate. The Contractor's main contact is Jake Jensen, who can be reached at 651-888-7907 (office) or 612-770-6682 (cell). Work during the week of August 26 includes continued removals and mass grading for the new Port Riverwalk development.

Anoka County Project – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass

Hanson Boulevard is a County road in Coon Rapids (north of Coon Rapids Boulevard). The County’s Contractor for this project is C.S McCrossan. Harry Grams is the County’s Construction Supervisor, and can be contacted at 763-324-3114.
