Coon Rapids Ice Center at 11000 Crooked lake Boulevard.

Opens daily at noon


Enjoy rides, bingo, pull tabs, food trucks and live music!  

Midway Armband Specials are available daily for $25/person for unlimited rides.

Parade

The Parade

Tuesday, July 2 at 6 p.m.


The parade route begins at 111th Avenue and Mississippi Boulevard, travels down Mississippi Boulevard to Direct River Drive, along Direct River Drive until turning on Flora
Street where the parade will then end back near the Coon
Rapids Ice Center grounds on 109th Lane.

Parking will not be allowed in the parade route area or other streets near the parade route from 2 p.m. until the end of the parade time (approximately 8:30 p.m.). Watch for posted signs. Road closures along the parade route will take place at approximately 5:15 p.m. watch for traffic control and signs.

Firecracker 10k & 5k

Firecracker 10k, 5k & Sparkler Dash

Thursday, July 4 starting at 8 a.m.


The Firecracker is open to all fitness levels; runners and walkers are all welcome! Advance registration required.

8:15 a.m. - 5k Run/Walk
 
The Kid's Sparkler Dash (children 3-8 years old) will immediately follow the 5k & 10k Awards Ceremony.

The Firecracker races start at the Coon Rapids Ice Center and follow a combination of residential roads and park trails. Parking is at Anoka-Ramsey Community College, 11200 Mississippi Boulevard (a short walk from Coon Rapids Ice Center).

Race proceeds benefit the Coon Rapids Community Strength Foundation, which supports community events.

Fireworks

The Fireworks

Thursday, July 4 at 10 p.m.


The fireworks launch site has moved this year, to the grounds of Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Parking is now available on July 4 at the old fireworks launch site, located across the street from Anoka-Ramsey.

Spectators are welcome to view the fireworks from the grounds of the Coon Rapids Ice Center and some seating is available in the east baseball fields at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Traffic control after the fireworks will be directed as smoothly as possible, however visitors are advised to allow extra time in their schedules to exit parking areas and navigate traffic.

Coon Rapids fireworks are very popular and thousands of people are leaving the fireworks parking areas often at the same time. Your patience is greatly appreciated as everyone works to leave the event and parking areas safely.

Where to Park

IMPORTANT CHANGES FOR 2019!


Public parking is available in the parking lots at Anoka-Ramsey Community College. Other nearby businesses may offer their parking lots for additional parking as well (either free or for a fee). No parking areas will be well-marked with signage.

Change for 2019: There will be NO PARKING allowed at the Family Center Mall, located on Crooked Lake and Coon Rapids Blvd., for this event.

The parking lot at Coon Rapids Ice Center, 11000 Crooked Lake Blvd, is reserved for handicap parking only.
