Property owners within street reconstruction project areas 19-1 and 19-3 should have received notification letters with project and schedule information last week. If you would like a copy, please email Engineering@coonrapidsmn.gov or call 763-767-6479. A contract for project 19-2 was awarded to Park Construction on May 21, 2019; notifications with detailed information will be mailed in the next week or so.

Pleasure Creek Culvert Extension at Coon Rapids Boulevard Project 18-18

The Contractor for this project is Dryden Excavating, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Jason Dryden, who can be reached at 763-753-7784 (office) or 612-868-1021 (cell). Construction operations during the week of May 28 include additional storm sewer work, and bank stabilization activities. 

Street Reconstruction Project 19-1 – 4 miles of residential streets

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Herb Thielbar, who can be reached at 763-274-2580 (office) or 612-716-4214 (cell). Zach Pfieffer is the City’s full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work during the week of May 28 is focused on the areas of 127th Avenue and Crane Street. Work includes lowering sanitary manholes and gate valves in preparation for pavement reclaiming, installation of new curb and gutter, and construction of the new sidewalk on the north side of 127th Avenue from Hanson Boulevard to Prairie Oaks Park. 

Street Reconstruction Project 19-2 – 2.3 miles of MSA streets (Foley Boulevard from 115th Avenue to 124th Avenue, Wedgewood Drive from Main Street to Round Lake Boulevard, Olive Street from 121st Avenue to Main Street) 

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction. Residents will receive schedules, contact information, and a list of Frequently Asked Questions in the US mail within the next couple of weeks.

The open house park meeting for this project has been rescheduled for Wednesday June 5 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and will be held at Woodview Park (11540 Olive Street).

Construction on this project is anticipated to begin the week of June 3. 

Street Reconstruction Project 19-3 – 3.3 miles of residential streets 

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Ryan Kerr, who can be reached at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). Jason Huebscher is the City’s full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work during the week of May 28 includes utility replacements in the Phase 1A area (Flintwood Street, Goldenrod Street, 114th Avenue, 116th Avenue, Evergreen Street, Evergreen Circle, and 117th Avenue). 

Trail Reconstruction Project 19-11 – Wedgewood Trail, Nelson Park Trails, and Trackside Park Trails 

The Contractor for this project is Northwest Asphalt. The Contractor's main contact is John Hamers, who can be reached at 952-445-1003 (office) or 952-292-8471 (cell). Hafedh Hlel is the City’s project engineer/inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Construction is planned to begin the week of May 28. Initial work includes asphalt trail removals in Nelson Park. 

Anoka County Project – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass

Hanson Boulevard is a County road in Coon Rapids (north of Coon Rapids Boulevard). The County’s Contractor for this project is C.S McCrossan. Harry Grams is the County’s Construction Supervisor, and can be contacted at 763-324-3114.
