Street Reconstruction Update

THE 2017 CONSTRUCTION SEASON IS UNDERWAY!

Two of the City’s four street reconstruction projects are currently out for bid, and the remaining two are planned to advertise beginning April 7th. The Engineering Department plans to recommended award of contracts to City Council at its regular meeting held May 2nd. Updated project schedules and contractor information will be available shortly thereafter.
 
As weather improves, the City and Contractor will be out in the coming weeks to address any seeding and irrigation issues in 2016 reconstruction areas.

Anoka County Project – Foley Boulevard Reconstruction (Egret to Northdale)

Foley Boulevard is a County road in Coon Rapids. The County’s Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. Harry Grams is the County’s Construction Supervisor, and can be contacted at 763-862-4250. Mike Carpenter with Bolton & Menk is the City’s project inspector, and can be reached at 651-968-6924.

This segment of Foley Boulevard is closed to thru traffic until early July (weather pending). The road will remain open for local traffic, emergency vehicles and for accessibility to area businesses. 

Wilderness – Bunker Hills Trail Extension (Project 17-9)

This project will extend Wilderness Trail north of Main Street and east of Avocet Street to an existing trail just south of the Bunker Hills Dog Park. On March 21, the City Council awarded a contract to Barber Construction. Work will commence in the coming weeks.
