2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

All planned improvements are substantially complete in Mason, Delta, and Pheasant Ridge Parks. Work at Woodcrest Park is also substantially complete, with the exception of the restroom structure which will be installed this month. Work on the disc golf course will begin in approximately two weeks.

The Contractor performed landscaping, turf restoration, and outstanding punch list items throughout the parks this week, and will continue finalizing the work next week.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The City has requested ancillary widening of the new trail as it approaches the railroad tracks to reduce the sharp trail curvature, and to create additional buffer space where the trail is located behind the curb & gutter. This work is anticipated to occur within the next few weeks.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Derick Sonnenberg at 612-791-4350. Roadway base construction is planned for the south end of Evergreen Boulevard from 87^th Lane to 85^th Avenue early next week. Curb installation is expected in the same area by the end of next week, and asphalt paving is planned for the segment of Evergreen Boulevard from 90^th Avenue to 87^th Lane.

Seeding and turf restorations are also scheduled for Evergreen Boulevard from the north end of the project toward the south, and along 93^rd Avenue and 90^th Avenue.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. For the week of September 19, temporary watermain construction is planned between Crocus Street and Xavis Street. Permanent water service connections will take place between the two Crocus Street intersections with Mississippi Boulevard. Concrete driveway re-establishments are planned between 108^th Lane and the westerly Crocus Street intersection.

Property owners are advised to remove landscaping encroachments that currently exist in the public right of way in order to avoid damage from watermain and service installations. Residential property lines measure to 15 feet from the back of curb. The City's contractor will not be responsible for replacing these items if damaged. Residents should note the location of their water service shut off (marked with a blue flag and paint).

The Contractor will require an area of 17 feet (measured from back of curb) to 10 feet (5-feet either side of the service) for excavation to replace these water service shut offs. If property owners have any questions regarding removals for water service replacements, they should contact the City Inspector, Ron Sample, at 763-257-3874 for more information.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128^th Avenue)

For the week of September 19, concrete driveway re-establishments are planned along Mississippi Drive. The Contractor will work to prepare Mississippi Drive and Round Lake Boulevard for asphalt paving, which is anticipated to occur Thursday or Friday of next week.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113^th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115^th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

For the week of September 19, concrete work (sidewalk and driveway re-establishments) is planned for Egret Boulevard east of Foley Boulevard. Asphalt paving in this same area is anticipated to occur later in the week. Boulevard restorations (topsoil and seeding) are expected to continue along Egret Boulevard throughout next week.

Miscellaneous Trail Construction, Rehabilitation and Erlandson Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement (Project 16-8)

This project includes the replacement of a pedestrian bridge in Erlandson Park, as well as trail rehabilitation between Riverview and Dahlia Parks and construction of a new trail segment within Peppermint Stick Park.

The pedestrian bridge in Erlandson Park and trail work within Peppermint Stick Park is nearly complete. Paving of the trail surface between Riverview and Dahlia Park is now expected to occur early next week.
