2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – Work at Woodcrest is substantially complete, with the exception of the restroom structure which will be installed this month. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks. Work on the disc golf course will begin to ramp up now that the wetland delineation work is complete and approved; it is anticipated to be completed this fall.

Mason – Work at Mason is substantially complete, with the exception of minor turf restoration which will be completed mid-month.

Delta – Work at Delta is substantially complete; playground installation should wrap up next week. Turf restoration and additional landscaping will be completed over the next few weeks as well.

Pheasant Ridge – Work at Pheasant Ridge is substantially complete, with the exception of minor turf restoration which will be completed over the next few weeks.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The City has requested ancillary widening of the new trail as it approaches the railroad tracks to reduce the sharp trail curvature, and to create additional buffer space where the trail is located behind the curb & gutter. This work is anticipated to occur within the next few weeks.

Re-grading of the ditch between 85th Avenue and the new trail is also required. The City is working with the Contractor to obtain a schedule for these items. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Derick Sonnenberg at 612-791-4350. Work on the watermain and storm sewers at the south end of the project from 87th Lane to 85th Avenue is expected to be complete by the end of next week. Irrigation repairs and boulevard restorations will continue at the north end of the project and along 93rd Avenue throughout the week of September 12. Curb and gutter is planned for installation from 90th Avenue to 87th Lane on Wednesday, September 14. Road section grading will occur at the south end of the project once the watermain and storm sewer work is complete in that area.  

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Next week, work will continue on the permanent watermain system between the two Crocus Street intersections with Mississippi Boulevard. Water service installations in this area are anticipated to begin by the end of the week. Curb and gutter is planned for installation between 108th Lane and Direct River Drive on Wednesday, September 14. Asphalt paving is planned between 109th Lane and 108th Lane late next week.

Property owners are advised to remove landscaping encroachments that currently exist in the public right of way in order to avoid damage from watermain and service installations. Residential property lines measure to 15 feet from the back of curb. The City's contractor will not be responsible for replacing these items if damaged. Residents should note the location of their water service shut off (marked with a blue flag and paint).

The Contractor will require an area of 17 feet (measured from back of curb) to 10 feet (5-feet either side of the service) for excavation to replace these water service shut offs. If property owners have any questions regarding removals for water service replacements, they should contact the City Inspector, Ron Sample, at 763-257-3874 for more information.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Work on the drain tile replacement should be complete along Mississippi Drive by Monday, September 12. Storm sewer installations are planned to take place early next week.

Preparation work for curb and gutter placement and driveway re-establishment for properties on the north side of Mississippi Drive will take place throughout all of next week. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

Curb and gutter installations are planned for Egret Boulevard east of Foley Boulevard on Tuesday, September 13. Asphalt paving is anticipated to occur on Egret Boulevard west of Foley Boulevard on Wednesday or Thursday of next week.

Final seeding work and irrigation repair along Dogwood Street is expected the week of September 12.

Miscellaneous Trail Construction, Rehabilitation and Erlandson Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement (Project 16-8)

This project includes the replacement of a pedestrian bridge in Erlandson Park, as well as trail rehabilitation between Riverview and Dahlia Parks and construction of a new trail segment within Peppermint Stick Park.

The new Erlandson Park bridge was set on Tuesday, September 6. Remaining approach grading and paving work in the area of this bridge is expected to be complete by the end of next week.

The new Peppermint Stick Park trail segment will be paved the week of September 12.

Reclaiming and paving of the trail between Riverview and Dahlia Park is also expected to occur next week.
