2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – Work at Woodcrest is substantially complete, with the exception of the restroom structure which will be installed this month. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. Work on the disc golf course will begin to ramp up now that the wetland delineation work is complete and approved; it is anticipated to be completed this fall.

Mason – Work at Mason is substantially complete, with the exception of the playground structure which is currently being installed. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed mid-month.

Delta – Work at Delta is substantially complete, with the exception of the playground structure which should be completed next week. Turf restoration and additional landscaping will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable.

Pheasant Ridge – Work at Pheasant Ridge is substantially complete. Minor turf restoration remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The City has requested ancillary widening of the new trail as it approaches the railroad tracks to reduce the sharp trail curvature, and to create additional buffer space where the trail is located behind the curb & gutter. This work is anticipated to occur within the next few weeks.

Re-grading of the ditch between 85th Avenue and the new trail is also required. The City is working with the Contractor to obtain a schedule for these items.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Work will continue on the permanent watermain system and service connections along Evergreen Boulevard from 87^th Lane to 85^th Avenue next week. Curb and gutter installations are also expected to take place next week between 90^th Avenue and 87^th Lane.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Work on the temporary watermain system between the two Crocus Street intersections with Mississippi Boulevard is expected to be complete by early next week. Work on the permanent watermain trunk line replacement will follow, with service connections anticipated to take place late next week. Work on the final service connections between Direct River Drive and Crocus Street is expected to be complete early next week, and gravel placement will follow. Topsoil re-establishment from 108^th Lane to 109^th Lane is also expected to occur.

Property owners are advised to remove landscaping encroachments that currently exist in the public right of way in order to avoid damage from watermain and service installations. Residential property lines measure to 15 feet from the back of curb. The City's contractor will not be responsible for replacing these items if damaged. Residents should note the location of their water service shut off (marked with a blue flag and paint).

The Contractor will require an area of 17 feet (measured from back of curb) to 10 feet (5-feet either side of the service) for excavation to replace these water service shut offs. If property owners have any questions regarding removals for water service replacements, they should contact the City Inspector, Ron Sample, at 763-257-3874 for more information.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128^th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Work on drain tile replacement will continue along Mississippi Drive throughout most of next week. One additional hydrant will be replaced within the drain tile replacement area. This latter work will include water shut offs between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Residents should look for pink tags placed on their front door notifying them of water shut offs. Residents should receive notice of scheduled water outages 24 hours in advance of the shut off. New curb and gutter installations are planned for early next week along Mississippi Drive as well.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113^th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115^th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

Grading along Egret Boulevard in advance of asphalt pavement placement is expected west of Foley Boulevard. This westerly segment of Egret is expected to be paved by the end of next week. Work will also take place on Egret east of Foley to prepare for concrete curb and gutter installation, which the Contractor will attempt to complete before the end of next week.

Some final seeding work and irrigation repair is expected to continue into the week of September 5 along Dogwood Street.

Miscellaneous Trail Construction, Rehabilitation and Erlandson Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement (Project 16-8)

This project includes the replacement of a pedestrian bridge in Erlandson Park, as well as trail rehabilitation between Riverview and Dahlia Parks and construction of a new trail segment within Peppermint Stick Park.

The existing bridge in Erlandson Park was removed the week of August 22. Work on the new bridge abutments has begun, and will continue throughout next week.
