MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)
The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Ron Sample is the City's full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Ron can be reached at 763-257-3874.
The Contractor plans to remove the existing concrete curb and gutter from Direct River Drive to Xavis Street the week of August 29. Work on the permanent watermain system will continue from Direct River Drive to Crocus Street. Concrete driveway re-establishment is anticipated in areas where curb and gutter was recently placed along Mississippi Boulevard early next week. Grading and placement of gravel for the permanent road section is expected from 108th Avenue to Direct River Drive. The Contractor will be working on water service re-establishment this Saturday, August 27.
Property owners are advised to remove landscaping encroachments that currently exist in the public right of way in order to avoid damage from watermain and service installations. Residential property lines measure to 15 feet from the back of curb. The City's contractor will not be responsible for replacing these items if damaged. Residents should note the location of their water service shut off (marked with a blue flag and paint).
The Contractor will require an area of 17 feet (measured from back of curb) to 10 feet (5-feet either side of the service) for excavation to replace these water service shut offs. If property owners have any questions regarding removals for water service replacements, they should contact the City Inspector, Ron Sample, at 763-257-3874 for more information.
