2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – Work at Woodcrest is substantially complete, with the exception of the restroom structure which is anticipated to be installed in September. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. Work on the disc golf course will begin to ramp up now that the wetland delineation work is complete and approved; it is anticipated to be completed this fall.

Mason – Work at Mason is substantially complete, with the exception of the playground structure which has been scheduled for installation the week of August 15th. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable.

Delta – All concrete and trail work is now complete on the project. Additional landscaping work will be installed over the next couple of weeks in the pavilion area. Site grading and trail backfilling is also complete, and turf restoration will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. The playground structure will be installed the week of August 15th.

Pheasant Ridge – Work at Pheasant Ridge is substantially complete. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. The acrylic coating for the basketball court will be applied next week, and the playground structure will be installed next week.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The City has requested ancillary widening of the new trail as it approaches the railroad tracks to reduce the sharp trail curvature, and to create additional buffer space where the trail is located behind the curb & gutter. This work is anticipated to occur within the next few weeks.

Re-grading of the ditch between 85th Avenue and the new trail is also required. The City is working with the Contractor to obtain a schedule for these items

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

This project is complete.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Weather delays have slowed the pace of construction on this project. Work should begin on the permanent watermain installation between 87th Lane and 85th Avenue next week. Driveways between 90th Avenue and 87th Lane are scheduled to be re-established on Monday, August 22. Work will continue on re-connecting water services between 90th Avenue and 87th Lane all next week. A portion of watermain is required to be replaced along 87th Lane – this will require a short term road closure of 87th Lane at Evergreen Boulevard. The City and Contractor will coordinate with businesses affected by this closure in advance of the work.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. The Contractor has tentatively scheduled water service re-establishment from 108th Avenue to Direct River Drive, as well as curb & gutter installations from 109th Lane to 108th Avenue for this Saturday, August 20. Work will begin on re-establishing driveways south of 109th Lane next Tuesday, August 23. Permanent watermain installations will continue from Direct River Drive to Crocus Street all next week.  Pavement reclamation is planned from Crocus Street to Xavis Street next week as well. 

Property owners are advised to remove landscaping encroachments that currently exist in the public right of way in order to avoid damage from watermain and service installations. Residential property lines measure to 15 feet from the back of curb. The City's contractor will not be responsible for replacing these items if damaged. Residents should note the location of their water service shut off (marked with a blue flag and paint).

The Contractor will require an area of 17 feet (measured from back of curb) to 10 feet (5-feet either side of the service) for excavation to replace these water service shut offs. If property owners have any questions regarding removals for water service replacements, they should contact the City Inspector, Ron Sample, at 763-257-3874 for more information.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Utility work will continue on Mississippi Drive and Round Lake Boulevard all next week. Valve and hydrant replacements are anticipated to be complete in this area by the end of the week. This work will include water shut offs between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Residents should look for pink tags placed on their front door notifying them of water shut offs. Residents should receive notice of scheduled water outages 24 hours in advance of the shut off.

Weather pending, the Contractor anticipates re-establishing pedestrian curb ramps and patching concrete driveways on Saturday, August 20. Topsoil and seed restorations will continue to take place next week along Crooked Lake Boulevard and 128th Avenue. The final lift of asphalt in this area is planned to be placed on Friday, August 26. Final seeding is then scheduled for Monday, August 29.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor has re-scheduled concrete flatwork and pedestrian curb re-establishment in the Dogwood Street area to now be complete by early next week. Due to weather, paving of Dogwood Street has been re-scheduled for Monday, August 22. Topsoil and seed restoration work will occur after the first lift of asphalt is placed on Dogwood Street. It’s anticipated the work along 113th Avenue and Dogwood Street will be substantially complete by August 26.

Utility work on Egret Boulevard will be complete by Tuesday, August 23. This work includes water shut offs between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Asphalt reclamation along Egret Boulevard west of Foley Boulevard is scheduled for August 19, and possibly into the week of August 22. The Contractor plans to mill Egret Boulevard on the east side of Foley Boulevard early next week. Permanent curb and gutter installations are then scheduled on Egret Boulevard for the week of August 22. 

Miscellaneous Trail Construction, Rehabilitation and Erlandson Park Pedestrian Bridge Replacement (Project 16-8)

This project includes the replacement of a pedestrian bridge in Erlandson Park, as well as trail rehabilitation between Riverview and Dahlia Parks, and construction of a new trail segment within Peppermint Stick Park. Work on the bridge replacement portion of the project is now scheduled to begin the week of August 22.
