2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – Work at Woodcrest is substantially complete, with the exception of the restroom structure which is anticipated to be installed in September. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. Work on the disc golf course will begin to ramp up now that the wetland delineation work is complete and approved; it is anticipated to be completed this fall.

Mason – Work at Mason is substantially complete, with the exception of the playground structure which has been scheduled for installation at the beginning of August. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable.

Delta – All concrete work is now complete on the project, and trail paving was completed this week. Trees have been planted, and additional landscaping work will continue over the next couple of weeks. Site grading and trail backfilling will take place next week and turf restoration will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. The picnic shelter is now complete, and the playground structure will be installed in early August.

Pheasant Ridge – Work at Pheasant Ridge is substantially complete. Minor turf restoration still remains on site and will be completed over the next few weeks as temperatures become more favorable. The acrylic coating for the basketball court will be applied next week, and the playground structure will be installed in early August.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The City has requested ancillary widening of the new trail as it approaches the railroad tracks to reduce the sharp trail curvature, and to create additional buffer space where the trail is located behind the curb and gutter. This work is anticipated to occur within the next few weeks.

Some re-grading of the ditch between 85th Avenue and the new trail is also still required. The City is working with the Contractor to obtain a schedule for these items. 

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

The Contractor for this project is Valley Paving, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Dan Lorentz at 612-282-2070. This week, turf crews were on site to place sod in front of properties affected by construction. Additional turf items will be completed in the next few weeks as weather conditions become more favorable. The traffic signal system at the intersection of Northdale and Redwood is now fully functional.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Permanent watermain installations for service connections along Evergreen Boulevard from 93rd Avenue to 90th Avenue will be wrapped up by early next week. Work will then begin on the permanent watermain installations along Evergreen from 90th Avenue south to 87th Lane. In addition, the Contractor will work on grading Evergreen Boulevard from 93rd Avenue to 90th Avenue to prepare for new curb and gutter installations during the week of July 25.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Replacement of the Riverview Creek culvert is expected to be complete on Monday, July 25. Work on the phase 3 permanent watermain system from 109th Lane to Crocus Street is anticipated to begin on July 26. The Contractor will complete driveway reinstatements and prep Mississippi Boulevard for paving within the phase 2 area next week. Paving may begin in the phase 2 area as early as the end of next week. The phase 2 area of the project is on schedule to be complete and open to traffic by August 12.

Property owners are advised to remove landscaping encroachments that currently exist in the public right of way in order to avoid damage from watermain and service installations. Residential property lines measure to 15 feet from the back of curb. The City's contractor will not be responsible for replacing these items if damaged.

Residents should note the location of their water service shut off (marked with a blue flag and paint). The Contractor will require an area of 17 feet (measured from back of curb) to 10 feet (5-feet either side of the service) for excavation to replace these water service shut offs. If property owners have any questions regarding removals for water service replacements, they should contact the City Inspector Ron Sample at 763-257-3874 for more information.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Work on the perforated pipe replacement along Mississippi Drive was rescheduled to begin on July 25.

New curb and gutter installations along 128th Avenue are expected to be complete early next week. Driveway reinstatements along Crooked Lake Boulevard and 128th Avenue will take place next week. The Contractor will finish grade both of these streets, with the goal of beginning asphalt paving by the end of the week.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. Work will continue on Xeon Street in regards to driveway reinstatement, boulevard restoration, and irrigation repairs.

Storm sewer, valve replacements, and service connections are expected to be complete along Dogwood Street next week. The Contractor will then begin grading Dogwood Street in advance of permanent curb and gutter installations. This road is anticipated to be complete by August 12.

Work on Egret Boulevard from Kumquat Street to University Avenue is scheduled to begin on August 1.
