2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – All concrete work, trail paving and park landscaping is now complete. AgLime work is complete on the ball field and benches have been installed. The picnic shelter and benches were also installed. Foundations for the basketball hoops were set, and an acrylic coating will be applied next week. Fencing should be completed next week, and it is anticipated that the restroom structure will be installed in September.

Mason – All concrete work, trail paving and final grading is complete. The picnic shelter and basketball hoops are now installed, and the playground structure has been scheduled for installation at the beginning of August.

Delta – Concrete installation is now complete throughout the park. Work on the picnic shelter commenced and will continue into next week. Bituminous trail paving is planned to occur the week of July 11, followed by final grading. Once grading is complete, seeding and landscaping will occur.

Pheasant Ridge – All concrete work, bituminous trail paving and final grading is complete. The picnic shelter is complete, and benches were installed. Next week, crews will work on miscellaneous seeding and landscaping throughout the park. The playground structure will be installed in early August.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The Contractor is wrapping up the process of performing final topsoil placement and finish grading. The trail is anticipated to be open for use the week of July 5. 

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

The Contractor for this project is Valley Paving, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Dan Lorentz at 612-282-2070. This week, grading for the park entrance was completed. Crews finished sidewalk and roadway grading, and installed concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons. The new traffic signal wiring is nearly complete, and Connexus was on site to hook up power. Final wear course paving was anticipated to occur this week, but is now planned to commence on July 5. Striping and restoration activities will follow once paving is complete. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Final grading in advance of asphalt paving will commence the week of July 5 on 93rd Avenue and the north end of Evergreen Boulevard. Paving is tentatively scheduled for these areas at the end of next week. The temporary watermain system has been installed along Evergreen Boulevard from 93rd Avenue to 90th Avenue. Work on the permanent watermain system along 90th Avenue is scheduled to be complete at the end of next week. Construction on the permanent watermain system from 93rd Avenue to 90th Avenue will begin the week of July 5.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. The first lift of asphalt on Mississippi Boulevard from Hanson Boulevard to Xavis Street was paved this week. Next week, driveway paving and boulevard and topsoil restoration will continue in this area. Work will begin on the second phase of the project from Coon Rapids Boulevard to 109th Lane on July 5. Mississippi Boulevard will be closed to thru traffic between Coon Rapids Boulevard and 109th Lane; access will remain for residents within the closed area only. The road closure is expected to last until August 12. The Contractor plans to reclaim the phase two road surface on July 5, perform curb and gutter removals July 6, and begin watermain work at the end of next week.

At this time, all damaged irrigation services between Hanson Boulevard and Xavis Street have been repaired by the City's Contractor. If residents in this area still have issues with their irrigation systems, they should contact the City inspector. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. The Contractor will work on utility service installations along 128th Avenue the week of July 5, and 128th Avenue will be closed to all traffic as this work takes place. Traffic will be directed to follow posted detour routes. Curb and gutter removals will continue on Crooked Lake Boulevard and 128th Avenue, as well as preparation for new installations in these areas next week. Driveway access will be limited as the curb and gutter work takes place. Daytime water shut offs will periodically continue as utility work wraps up on 128th Avenue.

Residents will be notified in advance of any water shut offs. Notifications are made via door hangers placed by the Contractor 24 hours in advance of the shut off. Door hangers are placed on the front door to the home – residents are encouraged to continually check their front doors for these notifications. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. The Contractor expects to finalize the sub-cutting, drain tile, sand and aggregate base installations along Xeon Street the week of July 5. Curb and gutter installations are also scheduled for the end of next week on Xeon Street.

At Northdale Middle School, removals along the parking lot in advance of new storm sewer installations are scheduled the week of July 5. Installation of new storm sewer in this area will continue next week as well.
