2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – All concrete work and trail paving is now complete. The baseball field work is approximately 50% complete, with the remainder to occur over the next two weeks. The frame of the picnic shelter has been constructed, and the roof and picnic tables will be installed over the next two weeks. Final prep work for the native plantings was completed this week and seeding will take place next week. Turf restoration is complete in most of the large disturbed areas, and trees are being installed today. It is anticipated that the restroom structure will be installed in September.

Mason – All concrete work and trail paving is now complete. Minor grading activities and turf restoration are anticipated to occur over the next week. The frame of the picnic shelter has been constructed, and the roof and picnic tables will be installed over the next two weeks. Final prep work for the native plantings was completed this week and seeding will take place next week. The playground structure has been scheduled for installation at the beginning of August.

Delta – Site removals are complete on the project, and grading for the new facilities is well underway. Concrete installation has commenced on the playground and basketball court areas, and will be completed next week. Grading activities will continue on the balance of the site in preparation of concrete flat work and trail paving in approximately 2 - 3 weeks.

Pheasant Ridge – All concrete work on the project is now complete. Final prep work for the native plantings was completed this week and seeding will take place next week. Work on the handicap parking area along Pheasant Ridge Drive is also substantially complete, and should be wrapped up when asphalt paving occurs on site over the next 1 - 2 weeks. The frame of the picnic shelter has been constructed, and the roof and picnic tables will be installed over the next two weeks. The playground structure will be installed in early August.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The Contractor is in the process of performing final topsoil placement and finish grading. Completion of the work has been slowed by weather activity. Fence installation is anticipated to take place the week of June 20, with completion of the project by June 24.

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

The Contractor for this project is Valley Paving, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Dan Lorentz at 612-282-2070. This week, hydrants on the north side of Northdale Boulevard were replaced. Curb and apron removal on the north side of the project occurred, followed by widening, grading and placement of aggregate base. Curb and gutter replacement is planned for Monday, June 20. Later in the week, crews plan to install sidewalk and driveway aprons, and pave the remaining road surface by the end of the week. Pending weather and other conditions, the majority of the work should be complete by the end of June.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. The Contractor will shape 93rd Avenue and complete any remaining curb and gutter work the week of June 20. Construction of the temporary watermain system on 90th Avenue will also take place next week, and will require detours for businesses along 90th Avenue in order to complete the installations. Storm sewer work on the north end of Evergreen Boulevard and periodic locations along 93rd Avenue is expected to be complete next week.  

Short-term water shut offs will be required at certain times, and affected businesses will be notified 48 hours in advance of any shut offs.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Saturday work is planned for June 18, and includes completion of the permanent watermain system up to Xavis Street. The Contractor will work on grading Mississippi Boulevard from Xavis Street to Uplander Street in preparation of curb and gutter installation. In addition, the Contractor will begin irrigation system repairs from Hanson Boulevard to Xavis Street starting the week of June 20.

Work will only take place on Mississippi Boulevard between Hanson Boulevard and Xavis Street until July 5.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Next week, work will continue on valve and hydrant replacements along Crooked Lake Boulevard which requires daytime water shut offs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Residents will be notified in advance of any water shut offs.

Notifications are made via door hangers placed by the Contractor 24 hours in advance of the shut off. Door hangers are placed on the front door of homes. Residents are encouraged to continually check their front doors for these notifications.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. The Contractor anticipates construction of the sub-drain drain tile system will take place on Xeon Street the week of June 20. The permanent watermain installation is complete as of June 17. The Contractor will need to shut down Xeon Street from 114th Avenue to 114th Lane (expected June 21 or later) to perform the required drain tile and road work.

Work along Dogwood Street next week includes installation of new concrete storm sewer pipe. Curb and gutter replacements will also occur along 113th Avenue and 115th Avenue.
