2023 Street Reconstruction Project 23-1
4.5 miles of residential street reconstruction between 126th Avenue north to and including 131st Avenue between Coon Creek Boulevard and Shenandoah Boulevard
The Contractor for this project is Bituminous Roadways Inc. The Contractor’s 24-hour emergency contact is Brandon Bistodeau at 651-358-5082. Property owners can also contact 911 in the event of any emergency. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted to respond to specific questions or concerns and can be reached at 763-767-6570 (office) or 612-709-2704 (cell).
Work planned for the week of August 28 includes continued placement of topsoil in the boulevard areas of Phase 3 (click here to view the project phasing map). Manhole and valve casting adjustments before final paving will also occur in Phase 3. The remaining concrete work will take place next week in Phase 3 which also includes any remaining concrete items within the Phase 1 and 2 areas.
Street light pole and LED fixture replacements will take place throughout the next several weeks as the new pole and fixture materials become available. The final layer of asphalt pavement on all project phases is tentatively planned for placement during the week of September 18. New street signs will also be installed throughout all project phases over the next few weeks.
Once the sod is installed, the Contractor will water and maintain it for 45 days starting from the installation date. After 45 days, the Contractor is required to replace any dead sod. Property owners will be fully responsible for future maintenance of the new boulevard sod after the 45-day maintenance period. To keep your new lawn looking its best, water often, avoid mowing until the new grass is at least three inches long, and cut no more than 1/3 of the grass height.
