2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – All concrete work and trail paving is now complete. Baseball field work will commence next week, including minor grading, placement of AgLime material, and installation of the players’ benches and backstop. Construction of the picnic shelter has commenced and should be completed next week. Prep work for the native planting areas continues, with seeding to occur within two weeks. Final turf restoration and installation of benches and picnic tables will also occur over the next two weeks. It is anticipated that the restroom structure will be installed in September.

Mason – All concrete work and trail paving is now complete. Minor grading activities and turf restoration are anticipated to occur over the next two weeks. Construction of the picnic shelter has commenced and should be completed in approximately one week, with bench and picnic table installation to follow. Prep work for the native planting areas continues, with seeding to occur within two weeks. The playground structure has been scheduled for installation at the beginning of August.

Delta – Site removals are substantially complete on the project, and layout of the new facilities continues. Concrete installation will commence next week for the playground and basketball court. Grading activities will continue on the balance of the site in preparation of trail paving in approximately two weeks.

Pheasant Ridge – All concrete work on the project is complete. Prep work for the native planting areas continues, with seeding to occur within two weeks. Work on the handicap parking area along Pheasant Ridge Drive is also substantially complete, and should be wrapped up next week. Construction of the picnic shelter will occur over the next week, with the installation of benches and picnic tables to follow. The playground structure will be installed in early August.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The Contractor is in the process of performing final topsoil placement and finish grading. Fence installation is anticipated to take place within the next couple of weeks. The project is expected to be complete by June 24. 

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

The Contractor for this project is Valley Paving, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Dan Lorentz at 612-282-2070. This week, crews conducted a traffic switch for eastbound traffic onto the south side of Northdale Boulevard to allow for work in the middle of the road. Westbound traffic will be switched to the south side of Northdale Boulevard today, and reclamation will occur on the north side this afternoon. On Monday, two hydrants will be replaced. Additional work planned for the week of June 13 includes curb and apron removal on the north side of the project, widening and grading following removals, and curb and gutter replacement toward the end of the week. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Permanent watermain installations are expected to be complete by June 10 on the north end of Evergreen Boulevard. Work will continue on the project this Saturday, June 11. Next week, 90th Avenue is anticipated to be reclaimed to a gravel surface. The Contactor is planning to install curb and gutter along 93rd Avenue and the north end of Evergreen Boulevard June 13 and 14, and temporary watermain installations are also scheduled for the week of June 13.

Short-term water shut offs will be required at certain times next week, and affected businesses will be notified in advance of any shut offs. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Saturday work is planned to occur on June 11 and June 18. The Contractor will work on new curb and gutter installations from Hanson Boulevard to Uplander Street the week of June 13. Permanent watermain installations will continue next week from Uplander Street to Xavis Street. Short-term water shut offs will be required on side streets connecting to Mississippi Boulevard next week, and residents will be notified 24 hours in advance of any water shut offs.

Work will only take place on Mississippi Boulevard between Hanson Boulevard and Xavis Street until July 5. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Work is planned to begin on this project along Crooked Lake Boulevard first, and is now expected to begin on June 13. The Contractor will begin with fire hydrant and valve replacements on Crooked Lake Boulevard. Short-term daytime water shut offs will be required to accommodate this work. Residents will be notified in advance of any water shut offs.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. Permanent watermain installations are wrapping up along Xeon Street from 115th Avenue to Northdale Boulevard, and are anticipated to be complete by June 14 or 15. Road closures will remain in effect along Xeon Street as the Contractor performs soil corrections and sub-grade work in preparation for asphalt paving.

Curb removals are taking place along 113th and 115th Avenue, with new curb and gutter planned for placement the week of June 13. Clearing and grubbing for storm sewer work around Northdale Middle School is also scheduled for the week of June 13.
