Coon Rapids celebrates as a community at the 4th of July parade

One of the biggest events of the year is almost here! Join us this Sunday through Tuesday to celebrate Independence Day at our 4th of July Celebration! Play games in the carnival, watch the parade, participate in the Firecracker 5K or listen to a live concert... and of course come for the fireworks display on the night of Tuesday, July 4!

3-5 Tickets per Ride

1 Ticket: $1.50

25 Tickets: $30

Unlimited Ride Wristband:  $30 per person, 5 hour ride window.

  • Sunday-Monday: Noon-5 p.m. or 5-10 p.m.
  • Tuesday: Noon-5 p.m.

Firefighter Bingo is BACK!

Each bingo session is co-hosted by a community partner that will share in the proceeds with the Coon Rapids Fire Department Relief Association. 

Sunday-Monday: 2-5 p.m. & 6-9 p.m.

Tuesday: 1-9 p.m.

Bingo Prices

1 sheet (3 cards): $1

1 Coverall sheet (1 coverall card): $1

Coverall is played on the hour, the rest of the time is regular bingo. Daubers are provided. 

Parade

Sunday, July 2 at 1 p.m.

  • The parade begins at 111th Avenue and Mississippi Boulevard, travels down Mississippi Boulevard to Direct River Drive, along Direct River Drive until turning on Flora Street where the parade will then end back near the Coon Rapids Ice Center grounds on 109th Lane.
  • Parking will not be allowed in the parade route area or on other nearby streets from 11 a.m. until approximately 3:30 p.m. Watch for posted signs. 
  • CTN will cover the parade LIVE on Xfinity Channel 859, Facebook and YouTube. 
  • Meet our new City mascot, Rocky the Raccoon at the parade!

Meet and Greet

Monday, July 3 from 4-6 p.m.

Meet the City's new mascot Rocky the Raccoon! Rocky will be joined by members of the Coon Rapids royalty to play games, take photos and give away prizes!

Tuesday, July 4

Open to all fitness levels!
Online registration required.  Go here to register.

5K Fee: $45 until July 3. 
Kids Sparkler Dash: FREE (but online registration is required. 

8 a.m. 5K Run Starts

9 a.m. 5K Awards Ceremony

9:15 a.m. Kids Sparkler Dash immediately after Awards Ceremony.

Fireworks 

Tuesday, July 4 at 10 p.m.

  • Spectators may view fireworks from the grounds of the Coon Rapids Ice Center or Anoka-Ramsey Community College. 
  • Traffic control after the fireworks will be directed as smoothly as possible, however visitors are advised to allow extra time in their schedules to exit parking areas and navigate traffic. 
  • Coon Rapids fireworks are very popular and thousands of people are leaving the parking areas at the same time. Your patience is appreciated.
