It's almost time for the big Coon Rapids 4th of July Celebration! There's fun things to do for everyone at this three day event, from the parade, to the Carnival Midway, live music and of course, fireworks! There is so much more to discover about our 4th of July Celebration.

Summer in the City

Neighborhood Meetings

There's still two chances to catch a Summer in the City meeting! Stop by and visit with City staff, ask questions and learn more about Coon Rapids. Check out City vehicles like fire trucks, police vehicles and more on display and enjoy family-friendly entertainment.

Safety Camp

July 18 & 19

Coon Rapids Ice Center, 11000 Crooked Lake Blvd.

This camp is for students entering 4th or 5th grade in the fall of 2023.

Members of the Coon Rapids Fire and Police Departments are co-sponsoring this exciting program designed for kids to have fun while learning. Children will be taught several important safety skills: water, fire and electrical safety; basic first aid, 911 and more.

This two-day camp is filled with safety lessons and fun! Cost is $40.

Night to Unite

Register Your Neighborhood Party Now!

Night to Unite is Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Registration deadline: July 24

Register your neighborhood gathering by July 24 to request a special visit from the police or fire departments (visits not guarenteed, but every effort is made to attend as many as possible). Registered parties also receive t-shirts for party organizers and a goodie bag with fun items for your party. Block parties are typically held between 5-8 p.m.

Summer Concert Series

Thursday Nights, 7 p.m.

Coon Rapids Regional Dam Park Performance Pavilion, 9750 Egret Blvd.

Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy an evening of free entertainment. Anoka County Parks is a partner for this event and waives the park entrance fee for the evening. There will be no shuttling available from the visitor center to the concert pavilion this year, but a drop-off/pick-up area is available near the pavilion.

Concessions available for sale from the Coon Rapids Lions and Boy Scout Troop #524.

NO CONCERT on Thursday, July 6. Concerts end for the season Thursday, Aug. 3.

Youth Summer Programs

RevSports Programs

Sand Creek Park, 1008 Northdale Blvd.

The City is offering activities from Revolutionary Sports including soccer, baseball and flag football. All equipment is provided, and small class sizes encourage fun and keep participants active. There are classes throughout the summer in four week sessions for ages 2-10.

Sessions available Wednesday evenings: May 17-June 7, June 14-July12,
July 19-Aug. 9, Aug. 16-Sept. 6, Sept. 13-Oct. 4

Bach to Rock Music Programs

Bach to Rock camps give kids a fun musical way to spend a week learning, making friends, and expanding a love of music. The camps offered are Rock City World Tour Camp, Glee Club Camp and Rock Band Camp. Let loose their inner star and jam out in these unique camps. Camps offered for ages 4 to 14.

Sessions available: June 12-16, June 19-23, July 10-14, July 24-28
