Street Reconstruction Update

2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – All concrete work and trail paving is now complete on the project. Trail backfilling will occur at the end of the week (or first part of next week), with turf restoration and placement of the AgLime material in the baseball field to follow. The picnic shelter will be installed in approximately 1 - 2 weeks. Tilling of native planting areas was completed this week, and seeding will occur following another herbicide treatment by mid-June. Utilities and the base foundation for the restroom shelter are complete, and it is anticipated that the structure will be installed in late summer/early fall.

Mason – All concrete work and trail paving is now complete on the project. Trail backfilling will occur early next week, with turf restoration to follow. The picnic shelter will be installed in approximately 2 - 3 weeks. Tilling of native planting areas was completed this week, and seeding will occur following another herbicide treatment by mid-June. The playground structure will be installed upon completion of all site improvements.

Delta – Site removals and layout of new facilities has begun. A majority of the site grading activities will occur next week. Concrete installation will occur around the playground structure and pavilion area in approximately 2 - 3 weeks.

Pheasant Ridge – All site removals on the project are complete. Approximately half of the concrete work is complete (basketball court and playground curbing). Concrete for the pavilion, overlook, and entryway areas will take place over the next 1 - 2 weeks. Tilling of native planting areas was completed this week, and seeding will occur following another herbicide treatment by mid-June. The handicap parking area along Pheasant Ridge Drive will begin in about two weeks, along with misc. trail work on the site. The picnic shelter and playground structure will be installed upon completion of the majority of site improvements.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

The Contractor, Valley Paving, is working on finish grading for the new trail. Plans for paving the new trail surface have been rescheduled for the week of May 30 due to rainy weather this week. Ancillary concrete and pedestrian ramp construction has also been rescheduled for the week of May 30. Weather pending, the trail should be substantially complete next week or the following (week of June 6). 

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

The Contractor for this project is Valley Paving, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Dan Lorentz at 612-282-2070. This week, storm sewer installation was completed. On the south side of Northdale, removal of concrete aprons, sidewalk and curb and gutter also occurred, and concrete curb and gutter replacement is scheduled today (weather pending). Next week, concrete crews are expected to place driveway aprons and sidewalks. Dirt crews will place aggregate roadway base in preparation for asphalt paving, which is tentatively planned for the end of the week.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Construction of the temporary watermain system is complete for Phase 1 work along the north portion near the cul-de-sac on Evergreen Boulevard. Permanent watermain installations are planned on the north end of Evergreen Boulevard the week of May 30. Storm sewer work has been ongoing this week, and will continue on 93rd Avenue the week of May 30. Short-term water shut offs will be required at certain times, and affected businesses will be notified in advance of any shut offs. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Work on installation of the permanent watermain system will continue along Mississippi Boulevard the week of May 30. Permanent water service connections will begin taking place by the middle of next week.

Work will only take place on Mississippi Boulevard between Hanson Boulevard and Xavis Street until July 5. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Wayne Fluharty at 612-919-3018. Work is planned to begin on this project along Crooked Lake Boulevard first, and is expected to begin on June 6.

Schedule and project information was sent to affected residents via US Mail this week. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. Road closures along Xeon Street will begin the week of May 30. Crews plan to close Xeon in the areas of 114th Avenue (Thursday, June 2), 114th Lane (Friday, June 3), and 115th Avenue (Saturday, June 4). Road closures are required due to high water tables and poor soil conditions. General detour routes will be posted, but businesses are encouraged to inform their customers and delivery drivers that detour routes will vary depending on the business location in relation to daily road closures. Every attempt will be made to allow continued safe access to businesses throughout the closure. However, semi truck access to 114th Avenue, 114th Lane, and 115th Avenue will be limited during the closures.

Work will continue along Xeon Street the week of May 30 with installation of the temporary watermain system.

Work on 113th Avenue, Dogwood Street, and 115th Avenue is scheduled to take place between mid-June and mid-August. Work on Egret Boulevard is scheduled to take place from mid-July through the end of September.
