2023 Construction is Underway!

A contract was awarded on April 4, 2023, for the City street reconstruction project 23-1. Property owners within this project area have received notification letters with project and schedule information in the US mail. 2023 Street Reconstruction Project 23-1

4.5 miles of residential street reconstruction between 126^th Avenue north to and including 131^st Avenue between Coon Creek Boulevard and Shenandoah Boulevard

The Contractor for this project is Bituminous Roadways Inc. The Contractor’s 24-hour emergency contact is Brandon Bistodeau at 651-358-5082. Property owners can also contact 911 in the event of any emergency. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work on this project began on May 1. Work planned for the week of May 8 will be grading for the new sidewalk to be installed on the north side of 131^st Avenue between Coon Creek Blvd and Shenandoah Blvd. Curb removals will occur within the phase 1 area of the project (click on the project phasing map here) next week. Some storm sewer work near 131^st Ave and Verdin Street will also occur next week. The streets of 129^th Avenue and 129^th Lane within phase 1 will be reclaimed next week. Gravel for the new sidewalk along 131^st Ave will be placed.  

Pavement Mill & Overlay Project 23-2

Pavement mill & overlay of Robinson Drive from 111^th Avenue north to Hanson Boulevard and Creek Meadow Drive/114^th Avenue from Robinson Drive to Xeon Street

The mill and overlay portion of this project was completed during the week of May 1. Signing and stripping on the streets will occur within the next two weeks.

Northdale Boulevard Watermain Replacement and Mill & Overlay Project 23-10

Replacement of City watermain and pavement mill & overlay on Northdale Boulevard between Quince Street and Ilex Street. 

This project is currently being advertised for contractor bids. A contract is expected to be awarded at the June 6, 2023, City Council meeting, and work is planned to begin after the July 4^th holiday. Watermain replacement work will continue throughout the summer and the mill & overlay phase will take place in September 2023. Sewer Lining Project 23-3 

The lining of 42-inch and 36-inch sanitary sewers along 99^th Avenue from Egret Boulevard west to Hanson Boulevard then north along Hanson Boulevard approximately 400 feet 

This project includes lining large-diameter City sewers along 99^th Avenue and Hanson Boulevard. The work includes temporarily installing a sewer by-pass pumping system requiring short-term traffic detours. The project will be under construction this summer with completion by the end of August. Pavement and turf restorations will take place in September

Safe Routes to School Project at Coon Rapids High School 22-6 

Installation of dynamic speed display signs, activated pedestrian crosswalk signs, and ADA sidewalk improvements at Coon Rapids High School along Northdale Boulevard

The Contractor for this project is Ti-Zack Concrete Inc. Work is expected to take place between July and August with completion before the 2023-2024 school year begins.

Foley Boulevard (CSAH 11) Railroad Bridge Overpass (between East River Road and Coon Rapids Boulevard); Mississippi Boulevard and Coon Rapids Boulevard Traffic Signal and Intersection Improvements
