2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)

Woodcrest – All concrete work on site is now complete, and the trails are being paved today. Minor grading and backfilling of the trails will occur next week. The picnic shelter will be installed in approximately 1 - 2 weeks. Tilling of native planting areas will take place today or early next week, with seeding to follow. Utilities and the base foundation for the restroom shelter are complete, and it is anticipated that the structure will be installed in late summer/early fall.

Mason – All concrete work on site is now complete, and the trails are being paved today. Minor grading and backfilling of the trails will occur next week. The picnic shelter will be installed in approximately 2 - 3 weeks. Tilling of native planting areas will take place today or early next week, with seeding to follow. The playground structure will be installed upon completion of all site improvements.

Delta – Site removals and layout of new facilities has begun. Major removals and site grading activities will begin in the next 1 - 2 weeks.

Pheasant Ridge – The majority of site removals and layout of new facilities is complete. Concrete installation will occur next week. Tilling of native planting areas will take place today or early next week, with seeding to follow. The playground structure will be installed upon completion of all site improvements.

85th Avenue Trail Construction (Project 14-27)

Work on storm sewer pipes and retaining walls concluded the week of May 16. The Contractor is working on finish grading for the new trail, and plans to pave the trail surface the week of May 23. Ancillary concrete and pedestrian ramp construction is also planned for the week of May 23. Weather pending, the trail is planned to be substantially complete the week of May 30. 

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)

The Contractor for this project is Valley Paving, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Dan Lorentz at 612-282-2070. This week, the Contractor installed watermain across Northdale Boulevard at Redwood Street. A new gate valve was installed, and hydrant work occurred. Installation of storm sewer will begin today. Next week, the traffic signal cabinet will be installed, and storm sewer installation will continue. Driveway and sidewalk removal is planned toward the end of the week as weather permits, and residents affected will be informed of the driveway work before it occurs. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Construction of the temporary watermain system on the north end of Evergreen Boulevard, as well as 90th Avenue, is planned for the week of May 23. Short-term water shut offs will be required in these areas, and affected businesses will be notified in advance of any shut offs. Curb and gutter removals will also continue in these areas into the week of May 23. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)

The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Construction of the temporary watermain system is planned to be complete for Phase 1 the week of May 23. Short-term water shut offs will be required early next week. Affected residents will be notified in advance of any water shut offs. Removals are now complete for Phase 1. The Contractor will haul excess reclaim gravel from the project area, and work will begin on installation of the new watermain system the week of May 23. Work will only take place on Mississippi Boulevard between Hanson Boulevard and Xavis Street until July 1. 

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)

Bids on this project were accepted May 6, 2016, and the City awarded a contract on May 17, 2016 to the low bidder, C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. Work is expected to begin late May/early June. Residents and businesses adjacent to the project and affected by construction will receive a schedule and project information via US Mail in the next week or so.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. Construction of the temporary watermain system on Xeon Street is planned to begin the week of May 23. Short-term water shut offs will be required to connect the temporary system. Affected businesses will be notified in advance of any water shut offs. Road closures on Xeon Street are expected to begin on May 31. An email with suggested detour routes will be sent to affected businesses in the area. Detour signs will be posted when road closures take place on Xeon Street.

Work on 113th Avenue, Dogwood Street, and 115th Avenue is scheduled to take place between mid-June and mid-August. Work on Egret Boulevard is scheduled to take place from mid-July through the end of September.
