Street Reconstruction Update

Northdale Boulevard/Redwood Street Signalization (Project 15-15)


This week, the Contractor completed excavation for the eastbound turn lane and placed drain tile and select granular fill. Signal preparation also occurred this week. Next week will include watermain and storm sewer work, as well as curb and gutter replacements toward the end of the week as weather permits. 

2016 Park Redevelopment Projects (Project 15-20)


Woodcrest – Most concrete site work is complete. All trails have been graded and based; paving will occur early next week. Over the next two weeks the picnic shelter will be erected. Tilling and seeding of the native planting areas will take place within two weeks. Utilities and the base foundation for the restroom shelter will be completed today; the structure will not be installed until late summer/early fall.

Mason – A majority of the concrete work on site is complete. All trails have been graded and based; paving will occur early next week. Over the next 2-3 weeks the picnic shelter will be erected. Tilling and seeding of the native planting areas will take place within two weeks. The playground structure will be installed upon completion of all site improvements.

Delta – Site removals and layout of new facilities has begun. Site grading will begin over the next 2-3 weeks.

Pheasant Ridge – Site removals and layout of new facilities has begun. Site grading and additional removals will occur over the next two weeks. Tilling and seeding of the native planting areas will take place within two weeks. The playground structure will be installed upon completion of all site improvements.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-1 – Evergreen Boulevard Area)


The Contractor for this project is Park Construction Company. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Scott Jandrey at 701-389-7390. Construction is planned to begin the week of May 16. Initial work includes installation of silt fence, traffic control set up, and removals. Work will focus on the north portion of Evergreen Boulevard from 90th Avenue to the north cul-de-sac, 93rd Avenue, and 90th Avenue beginning the week of May 16 and wrapping up in early July.

The south portion of Evergreen Boulevard from 90th Avenue to 85th Avenue is scheduled for construction between early July and the end of August. Businesses adjacent to the project and affected by construction were sent project information via US Mail this week.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-2 – Mississippi Boulevard Area)


The Contractor for this project is Forest Lake Contracting, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Tim Matteson at 651-248-4708. Construction is planned to begin the week of May 16, 2016. Initial work includes reclamation of the bituminous surface, curb and gutter removals, as-needed tree clearing, and set up of the temporary watermain system. Work will only take place on Mississippi Boulevard between Hanson Boulevard and Xavis Street from May 16 until July 1.  

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-3 – Mississippi Drive Area; Segments of Crooked Lake Boulevard/128th Avenue)


Bids on this project were accepted May 6, 2016, and the City anticipates awarding a contract on May 17, 2016 to the low bidder, C.S. McCrossan Construction, Inc. Work is expected to begin late May/early June. Residents and businesses affected will be sent specific schedule and project information via US Mail once a contract is awarded.

MSA Street Reconstruction (Project 16-4 – Segments of Xeon Street, 113th Avenue/Dogwood Street/115th Avenue, and Egret Boulevard)


The Contractor for this project is North Valley, Inc. The Contractor's 24-hour emergency contact is Stewart Packer at 763-286-7341. Construction is planned to begin the week of May 16. Initial work includes traffic control set up, removals, and the installation of temporary watermain on Xeon Street. Work is planned to focus on Xeon Street from May 16 to mid-June. The Contractor will work to keep Xeon Street open to traffic to the extent possible, but road closures will likely become necessary as the project progresses. Access to area businesses will be maintained at all times during construction. However, access may need to take place from either Creek Meadow Drive/114th Avenue or Northdale Boulevard depending upon the location of work on Xeon Street. Email updates regarding road closures will be provided to businesses on Xeon Street.

Work on 113th Avenue, Dogwood Street, and 115th Avenue is scheduled to take place between mid-June and mid-August. Work on Egret Boulevard is scheduled to take place from mid-July to the end of September.
