Join our Parkinson's Group, no need to RSVP. A typical meeting includes a speaker, time for discussion, and fellowship time with coffee and treats. The topic this time is Parkinson's and driving. 



Valentine Party with the Goldentones

Friday, February 10 at 11 a.m.

Cost: $13 per person by Monday, Jan. 30


Wear some red or pink, listen to old love songs by the Goldentones, and then we will play our version of the "Newlywed Game." At noon, we'll enjoy lunch provided by Lisa's Catering including lasagna, salad, cake and coffee. This is a wonderful day to celebrate love and friendship, so bring your sweetheart, a neighbor, or a friend! Doors open at 10:30.

AARP Tax-Aide Program

The Tax-Aide program utilizes the talents of IRS certified volunteers to complete free tax returns for members of our community concentrating on low income 50+. All tax returns will be completed the same day following safety protocols set by both the Coon Rapids Senior Center and AARP Foundation Tax-Aide. 


Prior to your appointment, required documents need to be picked up at the Senior Center. Please fill out all forms, collect all your tax documents and bring all of it with you to your appointment. 


Bring photo ID, last year's completed taxes, proof of social security and all forms needed to file. Held at the Coon Rapids Senior Center.

Winter Concert Series 

Coon Rapids Civic/Senior Center

Concerts begin at 7 p.m.
Winter community concerts are starting on January 12 at the Coon Rapids Civic Center, otherwise known as the Senior Center (11155 Robinson Dr). Enjoy an evening of music, coffee and dessert, all included with your ticket price. 

Tickets:

Tickets are for sale at the receptionist desk in the center of City Hall. 
$8 for adults
$5 for children 12 & under

One on One Technology Help

The Anoka County Library Crooked Lake Branch offers free, one-on-one technology help. Please call 763-324-1530 to set up a 45 minute appointment. Let them know what it is you are needing help with so they can match you up with the right person. Appointments take place at the library.

Defensive Driving Classes

4 hour in-person refresher classes starting soon!

Take one of these every three years if you are 55+ and receive a 10% discount on car insurance if you have previously taken the 8 hour online course. The 8 hour course is online at minnesotasafetycouncil.org.

4 Hour Course Dates at the Senior Center

Monday, February 27, 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

$24 due two weeks before class.
