The Senior Center will be CLOSED on Dec. 26 for the holidays.

There will be NO SENIOR CENTER ACTIVITIES except Live 2B Healthy on Dec. 27-30 due to maintenance and cleaning, but the office will be open.

Live 2B Healthy will continue on Wednesday the 28 and Friday the 30 as normal.

Going South for the Winter?

Notify us if you want to discontinue getting the newsletter while you are out of town. Just call us when you get back, and we will put you back on our mailing list.

Transportation to the Senior Center

If you need a ride to and from the Senior Center, call us at (763) 767-6473. We have volunteer drivers who will transport you. The cost is $1 each way. We are also doing shopping trips for $3 round trip. See the calendar in our Newsletter below for dates and places.

To schedule a ride, please call two days in advance. You must be able to get in/out of the van independently. The vehicles are not equipped for wheelchairs. Coon Rapids residents only.

Gift Certificates Available

Do you need a gift for that someone special? Are the kids asking you what YOU want for a gift? Consider a Gift Certificate for the Senior Center. It could be for trips, activities or bus tickets.

Let us do your Holiday Letter!

Want to do a holiday letter? Let us help! Bring in your handwritten letter and we'll do the typing and photocopy it onto seasonal stationary for just ten cents a copy! We'll have it done for you within two working days. Just stop in.

Volunteers Needed!

The Coon Rapids Senior Center is looking for volunteer van drivers to take seniors to and from the Senior Center and for grocery trips. We are also looking for individuals to help out on grocery days to load and unload groceries from the bus. Please call the Senior Center at (763) 767-6473 to find out more.

First Session Free!

Improve flexibility and balance, increase muscular endurance and make new friends, all at the same time! Led by a certified instructor. Classes are $35 per month, but there's no cost to "SilverSneakers" or "Silver and Fit" members. Most insurance plans are accepted, bring your insurance card to determine eligibility.

Defensive Driving Classes

4 hour in-person refresher classes starting soon!

Take one of these every three years if you are 55+ and receive a 10% discount on car insurance if you have previously taken the 8 hour online course. The 8 hour course is online at minnesotasafetycouncil.org.

$24 due two weeks before class.
