Donations Needed For the Senior Center Bazaar

Drop Off Hours: Tuesday, Oct. 25 through Tuesday, Nov. 8
10 a.m. to Noon

New craft items, flea market finds, home décor, holiday decorations and used jewelry are needed! Please drop them off at the Senior Center between the dates listed above. Volunteers will be available to assist you. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Baked goods can be dropped off on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

No clothing or electronics, please.

Come over to the Senior Center to shop crafts, home décor, the Christmas Shop, bake sale and much more! All proceeds benefit local charities.

Hearing Screening

Monday, October 24
At the Senior Center

Have you been interested in getting your hearing checked? MN Hearing Aid Professionals, Inc. will be at the Senior Center to provide free 10 minute hearing screenings. They will have a few audiologists and their portable Audiometer to test your hearing.

Please call the Senior Center at 763-767-6473 to schedule your appointment.

Flu and Pneumonia Shots

Wednesday, October 26
At the Senior Center

Cub pharmacists will be providing flu and pneumonia shots by appointment, starting at 9:30 a.m. at the Coon Rapids Senior Center. They will have both the high dose and standard flu shots available, as well as the Pneumovax and Prevnar Pneumonia vaccines. There is no charge for a flu shot or pneumonia vaccine if you have traditional Medicare Part B, a Railroad Medicare Card or other selected Medicare HMO plans.

Vet's Coffee

Wednesdays starting at 8 a.m.

Hey all you Vets! Join fellow Vets for coffee and conversation on Wednesday mornings starting at 8 a.m. All ages welcome!

B-I-N-G-O!

Mondays at 1 p.m.

Join us for Bingo most Mondays at 1 p.m.! Pay $5 per person upon arrival. Prizes will be $10 gift cards and other fun items!

No advance sign up needed. Just come in and join the fun.

Health Insurance Counseling

This one-on-one program can assist in helping navigate the process of enrolling in Medicare or supplemental health insurance policies. Sponsored by the Metro Area Agency on Aging and Senior LinkAge Line.

All in person appointments are held at the Coon Rapids Senior Center on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays in Oct, Nov and Dec.

Transportation to the Senior Center

If you need a ride to and from the Senior Center, call us at 763-767-6473. We have volunteer drivers who will transport you.

The cost is $1 each way. We are also doing shopping trips for $3 round trip. See the calendar in our newsletter for dates and places.

To schedule a ride, please call two days in advance. You must be able to get in and out of the van independently. The vehicles are not equipped for wheelchairs. Only available for Coon Rapids residents.

Gift Shop Open!

Monday-Thursday

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Did you know the Senior Center has a gift shop? Stop by for a little shop when you come to the Senior Center! Shop used jewelry, home décor, embroidered towels and more. All proceeds benefit local charities.

Defensive Driving Classes

4 hour in-person refresher classes starting soon!

Take one of these every three years if you are 55+ and receive a 10% discount on car insurance if you have previously taken the 8 hour online course. The 8 hour course is online at minnesotasafetycouncil.org.

$24 due two weeks before class.
