Harold Nelson, a local Coon Rapids veteran and member of our bridge club turned 100 on August 21! Watch the video on this great milestone done by CTN at a party hosted for Harold at the Senior Center.

Anoka County Historical Society "Dr. Flora Aldrich"

Take a step back in time as a costumed character joins us from the Anoka County Historical Society. Dr. Flora Aldrich moved to Anoka in the late 1800's. Find out her views on health, suffrage and her writing career and learn about Anoka in the early 20th century. Lunch will include Chicken Wild Rice Soup, breadstick, coffee and dessert.

Super Senior Club

Next Meeting: Thursday, September 8th at 1 p.m.
Bazaar meeting at 12 a.m.


The September meeting date has been changed to the 2nd Thursday of September because of Labor Day weekend.

The Super Senior Club is a group of charitable seniors that run the Senior Bazaar and gift shop as well as raise money in many other ways for non-profit organizations that support community members and those in need. The dues are $7 per year to join if you are interested!

Church Basement Ladies "Plowin' Thru"

Includes lunch, transportation and a seat at the Ames theater in Burnsville to watch the musical.

Great Northern Railway

Payment Deadline: Friday, September 2
Includes transportation, lunch, the train ride through Wisconsin and a stop at Trego, WI and Burnett Dairy Cooperative near Grantsburg, WI. 

Sidekick Theatre Presents: Dancing Lessons

Includes transport to Sidekick Theatre in Bloomington, lunch, and the romantic comedy Dancing Lessons.

Walking Club

Exercise, meet new friends and enjoy nature, all at one time! The Coon Rapids Roamers walk around 1.5 to 3 miles depending on the trail and the participants. For more information, come to the Senior Center or call 763-767-6473.

Defensive Driving Classes

4 hour in-person refresher classes starting soon!

Take one of these every three years if you are 55+ and receive a 10% discount on car insurance if you have previously taken the 8 hour online course. The 8 hour course is online at minnesotasafetycouncil.org. 

4 Hour Course Dates at the Senior Center

September 29, 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Monday, October 10: 4:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 27: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
Thursday, November 21: 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

$24 due two weeks before class.
