2022 Construction is Underway!

2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-1

4.2 miles of residential streets north of 119^th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard, including streets south of 119^th Avenue south to 117^th Avenue between Kerry Street and Jonquil Street; and the 117^th Lane cul-de-sac east of Northdale Boulevard

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work in the overall combined project phase 4 area (streets north of 119^th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard to 121^st Avenue including 120^th Avenue and Tulip Street) began last week. The Contractor expects to complete temporary watermain set up in the phase 4 area early next week and will begin work on the permanent watermain replacements by mid next week.

Due to existing utility conflicts (Comcast) within the overall phase 3 area of the combined 22-1 and 22-2 projects (Wedgewood Drive between Round Lake Boulevard and 119^th Avenue including all adjacent side streets), City work in this area has been delayed. Comcast and its Subcontractors will continue with their phase 3 relocation work all next week. The Contractor does plan to move into the phase 3 area within the next couple of weeks to perform ancillary valve and hydrant replacements based on material availability and utility relocation progress.

2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-2

3.6 miles of residential streets north of 119^th Avenue along Zea Street west of Round Lake Boulevard and south of Wedgewood Drive; Zea Street between 119^th Avenue and Blackfoot Street; streets south of 119^th Avenue and north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Round Lake Boulevard and Silverod Street

The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. The Contractor will complete remaining asphalt driveway restorations in the phase 1 area (streets west of Round Lake Boulevard along Zea Street) on Monday next week. Asphalt base pavement will be placed on remaining areas within phase 1 (including south Zea Street between 119^th Avenue and Blackfoot Street) next week. Irrigation repairs and boulevard restorations will begin in the phase 1 area next week.

Completion of curb and concrete work is scheduled for the phase 2 area (streets east of Round Lake Blvd and south of 119^th Avenue) by mid next week.

Comcast continues to work on the remaining completion and restorations associated with the relocation of numerous segments of its buried lines within project 22-2. This relocation work was required since many of the existing Comcast buried lines were located directly behind City curbs that need to be replaced.
