2022 Construction is Underway!

Contracts were awarded on April 19, 2022 for City street reconstruction projects 22-1 and 22-2. Property owners within these project areas have received notification letters with project and schedule information in the US mail. 2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-1

4.2 miles of residential streets north of 119^th Avenue and east of Round Lake Boulevard, including streets south of 119^th Avenue south to 117^th Avenue between Kerry Street and Jonquil Street; and the 117^th Lane cul-de-sac east of Northdale Boulevard

The Contractor for this project is Douglas-Kerr Underground, LLC. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-679-8937 (office) or 320-515-0046 (cell). Work is expected to begin in the first phase area of this project (Wedgewood Drive between Round Lake Boulevard and 119^th Avenue including adjacent side streets) at the end of May. Some saw-cutting of existing curb and driveways planned for eventual replacement will take place over the next couple of weeks.

2022 Street Reconstruction Project 22-2

3.6 miles of residential streets north of 119^th Avenue along Zea Street west of Round Lake Boulevard and south of Wedgewood Drive; Zea Street between 119^th Avenue and Blackfoot Street; and streets south of 119^th Avenue and north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Round Lake Boulevard and Silverod Street

Work next week includes continued hydrant and valve replacements in the phase 1 area (Zea Street including adjacent side streets). New concrete curb installation is tentatively scheduled for the end of next week on the north end phase 1 (streets closer to Wedgewood Drive). Storm sewer catch basins are also planned for replacement next week in phase 1. Saw-cutting of existing curb and driveways planned for eventual replacement is expected in the phase 2 area (streets east of Round Lake Boulevard, south of 119^th Avenue and north of Coon Rapids Boulevard).

Comcast is currently relocating numerous segments of its buried lines within the phase 1 area of project 22-2 in advance of street reconstruction work. This relocation work must take place as many of the existing Comcast buried lines are directly behind City curbs that need to be replaced. Comcast’s work is expected to continue all next week, and will also occur in the remaining project phases as construction progresses.
