Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) Lift Station L-34 Improvements at 1055 Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension

2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-1 – 3.0 miles of local streets (from 127^th Avenue north of 130^th Lane between Shenandoah Boulevard and Hanson Boulevard plus Bluebird Circle north of 121^st Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is New Look Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Adam Pohlkamp at 320-980-3637. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Next week in Area 2 (streets including 128^th Avenue, Nightingale Street, Jay Street, and 129^th Lane), crews will continue boulevard restorations consisting of irrigation repairs, and topsoil/sod placement.

In Area 3 (streets including 127^th Avenue, 127^th Lane, 127^th Circle, Nightingale Street Cul-de-sac, Killdeer Street, Ibis Street, the remaining section of 128^th Avenue not included in Area 2, Grouse Street, and Bluebird Circle), asphalt pavement reclamation will take place on Monday (8/16). Concrete curb and driveway replacements will continue through Tuesday (8/17).

Roadway sub-cutting and gravel base tolerancing will begin on Tuesday and continue through the end of the week. Roads will be congested during this process. Property owners are asked to be patient while the work takes place and allow construction vehicles to safely get out of the way during the work. Access will be interrupted between driveways and certain Area 3 street segments at times, and the specific locations of this work will consistently change throughout the day.

Asphalt roadway paving in Area 3 is expected on August 25, with asphalt driveway restorations planned for August 26 and 27. Boulevard restorations will then take place during the week of August 30.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS PLANNING ON FULL DRIVEWAY REPLACEMENTS:
If a portion of your driveway apron has been removed as part of the City’s construction project and you are planning to have your own contractor install a full new driveway, please email Zach Pfieffer at zpfieffer@coonrapidsmn.gov with details (property address, timing of installation, etc.). The City will work with you to issue a credit for the work that would have been completed under our project and will direct the City’s Contractor to exclude your driveway apron from its restoration plans.

2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-2 – 3.6 miles of local streets (streets north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Flamingo and Jay Streets north to 106^th Avenue, Eagle Street to Avocet Street south of Egret Boulevard, and the neighborhood off Foley Boulevard between 95^th and 97^th Lanes)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work next week includes boulevard restorations in phase 2 of Area 1 (streets including Hummingbird Street, 104^th Avenue, Ibis Street, Jay Street, and 106^th Avenue). Topsoil placement is expected during the week of August 23.

In Area 2 (streets east of Egret Blvd known as Egret Estates), work on hydrant and valve replacements will continue through next Tuesday (8/17). This work includes daytime water shut offs. Storm sewer catch basin replacements will then take place from Wednesday through Friday. Asphalt pavement reclamation is tentatively scheduled for Area 2 during the week of August 23.

New concrete curb will be installed throughout Area 3 (streets east of Foley Boulevard and north of TH 610 up to 97^th Lane) through next Tuesday (8/17). Gravel base tolerancing will then take place through the rest of next week, with asphalt base paving planned for August 25.
