Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) Lift Station L-34 Improvements at 1055 Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension

The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is currently rehabilitating its lift station (L34) adjacent to this City-owned pedestrian bridge along Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension. 2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-1 – 3.0 miles of local streets (from 127^th Avenue north of 130^th Lane between Shenandoah Boulevard and Hanson Boulevard plus Bluebird Circle north of 121^st Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is New Look Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Adam Pohlkamp at 320-980-3637. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work next week in Area 2 (streets including 128^th Avenue, Nightingale Street, Jay Street, and 129^th Lane) includes asphalt driveway patching Monday through Wednesday. Irrigation repairs and boulevard topsoil and sod placement will occur the week of August 9.

In Area 3 (streets including 127^th Avenue, 127^th Lane, 127^th Circle, Nightingale Street Cul-de-sac, Killdeer Street, Ibis Street, the remaining section of 128^th Avenue not included in Area 2, Grouse Street, and Bluebird Circle), remaining curb and driveway removals will be completed. New curb installations will begin midweek, and extend through the week of August 9.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS PLANNING ON FULL DRIVEWAY REPLACEMENTS:
If a portion of your driveway apron has been removed as part of the City’s construction project and you are planning to have your own contractor install a full new driveway, please email Zach Pfieffer at zpfieffer@coonrapidsmn.gov with details (property address, timing of installation, etc.). The City will work with you to issue a credit for the work that would have been completed under our project and will direct the City’s Contractor to exclude your driveway apron from its restoration plans.

2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-2 – 3.6 miles of local streets (streets north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Flamingo and Jay Streets north to 106^th Avenue, Eagle Street to Avocet Street south of Egret Boulevard, and the neighborhood off Foley Boulevard between 95^th and 97^th Lanes)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work next week includes asphalt base course paving in phase 2 of Area 1 on Tuesday (streets including Hummingbird Street, 104^th Avenue, Ibis Street, Jay Street, and 106^th Avenue). Boulevard restorations will follow paving operations.

Work in Area 3 (streets east of Foley Boulevard and north of TH 610 up to 97^th Lane) next week includes final water service reestablishments on 97^th Avenue and 97^th Lane. Remaining curb removals and roadway grading in preparation for curb placement will take place throughout Area 3, and remaining valve and hydrant replacements will occur on 95^th Lane and Juniper Street.

Work in Area 2 (streets east of Egret Blvd) is planned to begin next week and will include traffic control set up and temporary mailbox installations.
