Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) Lift Station L-34 Improvements at 1055 Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension

The Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES) is currently rehabilitating its lift station (L34) adjacent to this City-owned pedestrian bridge along Coon Rapids Boulevard Extension. 2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-1 – 3.0 miles of local streets (from 127^th Avenue north of 130^th Lane between Shenandoah Boulevard and Hanson Boulevard plus Bluebird Circle north of 121^st Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is New Look Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Adam Pohlkamp at 320-980-3637. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work next week includes roadway grading in Area 2 (streets including 128^th Avenue, Nightingale Street, Jay Street, and 129^th Lane) to prepare for asphalt paving. Grading work is expected to be complete by mid next week. Asphalt paving in Area 2 is planned for July 29. Asphalt driveway restorations in Area 2 are expected to take place on Monday, August 2.

Work next week in Area 3 (streets including 127^th Avenue, 127^th Lane, 127^th Circle, Nightingale Street Cul-de-sac, Killdeer Street, Ibis Street, the remaining section of 128^th Avenue not included in Area 2, Grouse Street, and Bluebird Circle) includes completion of storm sewer catch basin replacements. Curb removals will also take place next week throughout Area 3.

The Contractor has received City approval to work in Area 3 between 8 am and 2 pm on Saturday, July 24 to continue storm sewer catch basin replacements.

ATTENTION RESIDENTS PLANNING ON FULL DRIVEWAY REPLACEMENTS:
If a portion of your driveway apron has been removed as part of the City’s construction project and you are planning to have your own contractor install a full new driveway, please email Zach Pfieffer at zpfieffer@coonrapidsmn.gov with details (property address, timing of installation, etc.). The City will work with you to issue a credit for the work that would have been completed under our project and will direct the City’s Contractor to exclude your driveway apron from its restoration plans.

2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-2 – 3.6 miles of local streets (streets north of Coon Rapids Boulevard between Flamingo and Jay Streets north to 106^th Avenue, Eagle Street to Avocet Street south of Egret Boulevard, and the neighborhood off Foley Boulevard between 95^th and 97^th Lanes)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Jason can be reached at 763-767-6570 (office) or 612-709-2704 (cell).

Work next week includes gravel tolerancing to prepare for asphalt paving in phase 2 of Area 1 (streets including Hummingbird Street, 104^th Avenue, Ibis Street, Jay Street, and 106^th Avenue). Asphalt base course paving is now planned for phase 2 of Area 1 streets on Monday, August 2.

Work in Area 3 (streets east of Foley Boulevard and north of TH 610 up to 97^th Lane) next week includes asphalt pavement reclamation and curb removals. Remaining watermain work will be completed as well next week on 97^th Avenue.

Work in Area 2 (streets east of Egret Blvd) is planned to begin on August 2, and will include traffic control set up and temporary mailbox installations.
