2021 Street Reconstruction Project 21-1 – 3.0 miles of local streets (from 127th Avenue north of 130th Lane between Shenandoah Boulevard and Hanson Boulevard plus Bluebird Circle north of 121st Avenue)
The Contractor for this project is New Look Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Adam Pohlkamp at 320-980-3637. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer, who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Zach can be reached at 763-767-6431 (office) or 612-710-8243 (cell).
Work next week includes topsoil and sod installations in area 1 (streets in the northwest corner of Shenandoah Oaks including 128th Lane, 129th Lane, 130th Lane, Nightingale Street, Martin Street, and Linnet Street). The Contractor will distribute notices on proper care and watering of new sod to property owners. While the Contractor will water the newly placed sod for 45 days, assistance from property owners is needed to ensure proper growth during hot and dry periods of the summer.
Concrete curb and driveway removals are planned for the end of next week in area 2 (streets including 128th Avenue, Nightingale Street, Jay Street, and 129th Lane). Property owners will receive notice of these removals mid-week. Driveways will be ramped with gravel to maintain access throughout. New concrete curb and gutter installations are planned to begin in area 2 on July 6 – this avoids on-street parking restrictions over the 4th of July holiday weekend during the concrete curing process.
ATTENTION RESIDENTS PLANNING ON FULL DRIVEWAY REPLACEMENTS:
If a portion of your driveway apron has been removed as part of the City’s construction project and you are planning to have your own contractor install a full new driveway, please email Zach Pfieffer at zpfieffer@coonrapidsmn.gov with details (property address, timing of installation, etc.). The City will work with you to issue a credit for the work that would have been completed under our project and will direct the City’s Contractor to exclude your driveway apron from its restoration plans.
