Coon Rapids Boulevard Reconstruction Project 18-13 – Reconstruction of Coon Rapids Boulevard from Egret Boulevard to the East River Road/Coon Rapids Boulevard Split

Coon Rapids Boulevard is an Anoka County Highway Department owned and maintained roadway, however this reconstruction project is being led by the City of Coon Rapids. Please direct all questions and concerns regarding this construction project to Mark Hansen, City of Coon Rapids Project Manager and City Engineer. Mark can be reached at 763-767-6465. The Contractor for this project is S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Joe Miller.

Work next week includes grading and preparing areas along the north and southbound Coon Rapids Boulevard median for asphalt paving expected to take place the week of September 14. The Contractor will also place topsoil and seed in the median between Zilla Street and Egret Boulevard. Ancillary bridge repair work will continue next week.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-1 – 2.6 miles of local City streets (streets near Norway Street and East River Road, 97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street, Norway Street near 107th and 108th Lane, and Avocet Street near 111th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for the week of September 8 includes irrigation repairs and topsoil placements in Area 1 (Avocet Street, 109^th and 111^th Avenue, 109^th Lane, and Xeon Street).

Miscellaneous concrete and cleanup work is planned next week in Area 4 (streets east of East River Road – 89^th Avenue, Norway Street, and 86^th Avenue).

In Area 3 (97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street), placement of the asphalt base course is planned by the end of the week.

Work planned in the Autumn Knolls neighborhood (Area 2 – Norway Street near 107^th Lane and 108^th Lane) includes continued water service installations on 107^th Lane. Work on both the temporary and permanent watermain systems along 108^th Lane will also take place.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-2 – 2.3 miles of local and MSA streets (streets near 113^th Avenue and Crooked Lake Boulevard, Crooked Lake Boulevard north of Northdale Boulevard to Gladiola Street, and Riverdale Drive and Northdale Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is Douglas Kerr Underground. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-515-0046. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for the week of September 8 includes placement of the final lift of asphalt wear course pavement on 113^th Avenue. Base course asphalt pavement is planned for Crooked Lake Boulevard. Boulevard restorations are planned on the north and west side of Riverdale Drive all week.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-3 – 2.3 University Avenue north of Main Street (City of Blaine Project)

This project is being administered by the City of Blaine. The Contractor for this project is Dresel Contracting. Project contact information and schedule will be sent via US Mail and posted on the City of Coon Rapids website once available. If property owners have questions regarding the construction process and schedule, please contact Stefan Higgins at 763-717-2722 at the City of Blaine, or Mark Hansen at 763-767-6465 at the City of Coon Rapids.

This project is substantially complete. The final lift of asphalt pavement and miscellaneous punchlist items will take place over the next few weeks.

Anoka County Projects – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass, and Hanson Boulevard from Northdale Boulevard (CSAH 11) to Main Street (CSAH 14)

Hanson Boulevard is a County road in Coon Rapids (north of Coon Rapids Boulevard). Chris Osterhus is the County’s Construction Supervisor and can be contacted at 763-324-3189.
