Coon Rapids Boulevard Reconstruction Project 18-13 – Reconstruction of Coon Rapids Boulevard from Egret Boulevard to the East River Road/Coon Rapids Boulevard Split

Coon Rapids Boulevard is an Anoka County Highway Department owned and maintained roadway, however this reconstruction project is being led by the City of Coon Rapids. Please direct all questions and concerns regarding this construction project to Mark Hansen, City of Coon Rapids Project Manager and City Engineer. Mark can be reached at 763-767-6465. The Contractor for this project is S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Joe Miller.

Roadway work next week includes completion of removals within the median areas of north and southbound Coon Rapids Boulevard. Storm sewer work and aggregate base placement will also occur along the Coon Rapids Boulevard medians.

Bridge rehabilitation work will continue all next week in both the north and southbound directions of Coon Rapids Boulevard over the BNSF railroad tracks and East River Road.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-1 – 2.6 miles of local City streets (streets near Norway Street and East River Road, 97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street, Norway Street near 107th and 108th Lane, and Avocet Street near 111th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for the week of July 27 includes continuation of irrigation repairs in Area 4 (streets east of East River Road – 89^th Avenue, Norway Street, and 86^th Avenue).

On Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, curb removals and pavement reclamation will occur in Area 1 (Avocet Street, 109^th and 111^th Avenue, 109^th Lane, and Xeon Street).

In Area 3 (97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street), work will continue all next week on the permanent watermain services.

Work is planned to begin in the Autumn Knolls neighborhood (Area 2 – Norway Street near 107^th Lane and 108^th Lane), including dewatering set up and tree removals.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-2 – 2.3 miles of local and MSA streets (streets near 113^th Avenue and Crooked Lake Boulevard, Crooked Lake Boulevard north of Northdale Boulevard to Gladiola Street, and Riverdale Drive and Northdale Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is Douglas Kerr Underground. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-515-0046. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for the week of July 27 includes placement of asphalt base course on 113^th Avenue.

On Crooked Lake Boulevard, permanent watermain system and storm sewer construction will continue all next week.

Concrete curb and driveway replacements are planned for portions of Riverdale Drive next week.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-3 – 2.3 University Avenue north of Main Street (City of Blaine Project)

This project is being administered by the City of Blaine. The Contractor for this project is Dresel Contracting. Project contact information and schedule will be sent via US Mail and posted on the City of Coon Rapids website once available. Work planned for University Avenue during the week of July 27 includes installation of concrete curb and gutter. Residents with driveways that access University Avenue will receive notices directing them to temporarily park on 125^th Lane and 126^th Lane to allow sufficient time for concrete to cure at driveway entrances.

Anoka County Projects – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass, and Hanson Boulevard from Northdale Boulevard (CSAH 11) to Main Street (CSAH 14)

Hanson Boulevard is a County road in Coon Rapids (north of Coon Rapids Boulevard). Chris Osterhus is the County’s Construction Supervisor and can be contacted at 763-324-3189.
