Coon Rapids Senior Connect

REMEMBER: DRIVE-BY FOOD DRIVE

TOMORROW!

THURSDAY, JULY 9 from 9 a.m. to Noon

Coon Rapids Senior Center/City Hall

Times are tough for some folks right now. So… we want to make sure our neighbors have food and are staying healthy. The Coon Rapids Senior Center is hosting a “Drive-By Food Drive.”

Kris and Cindy will be stationed outside of the Senior/Civic Center at City Hall to accept your non-perishable food items, as well as checks made out to: ACBC Food Shelf.

Just drive up to the curb, stay in your car and we’ll gladly take your donation. We can’t wait to see you again (from a safe distance, of course) and it’s all for a good cause!

SENIOR CENTER UPDATE

We miss you and can’t wait to see you again! However, as we have all learned, the senior population is the most vulnerable and compromised during this COVID-19 pandemic. While some aspects of life are returning to normal, the re-opening of the Senior Center will take a bit longer.

We're sorry, but no “drop-in” use of the facility is allowed. During July and August, we will hold a handful of activities that require an appointment or pre-registration. Keep in mind, if you come to the building for one of those events, we suggest you wear a face mask. All attendees must be symptom free. Do not attend if you are experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath or any other cold or flu-like symptoms. Everyone entering the building will be required to sign in and use hand sanitizer upon entry. Social Distancing (6 feet or more), size limits and time limits will be implemented. No refreshments allowed and no beverages will be provided (you may bring your own beverage). Extra cleaning and sanitation procedures will also be in place.

We're here to help! Person wearing a headset.

In the meantime, we are still here to help!

Feel free to call our office if you have a question about resources, grocery delivery or other issues.

We all have a role to play in protecting each other and our community from contagious illnesses.

Safety and wellness are our number one priority! Your understanding and cooperation are appreciated!
