Coon Rapids Boulevard Reconstruction Project 18-13 – Reconstruction of Coon Rapids Boulevard from Egret Boulevard to the East River Road/Coon Rapids Boulevard Split

Coon Rapids Boulevard is an Anoka County Highway Department owned and maintained roadway, however this reconstruction project is being led by the City of Coon Rapids. Please direct all questions and concerns regarding this construction project to the City of Coon Rapids Project Manager and City Engineer, Mark Hansen. Mark can be reached at 763-767-6465. The Contractor for this project is S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Joe Miller.

Storm sewer and utility work are planned to take place along the northbound side of Coon Rapids Boulevard all next week. Currently, the Contractor is planning for new curb installations on northbound Coon Rapids Boulevard during the week of June 22 and paving in the outer lanes of both directions during the week of June 30.

Bridge rehabilitation work in both the north and southbound directions of Coon Rapids Boulevard over the BNSF railroad tracks and East River Road will continue. A future closure of northbound East River Road to accommodate bridge repairs is tentatively planned for July 11 and 12.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-1 – 2.6 miles of local City streets (streets near Norway Street and East River Road, 97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street, Norway Street near 107th and 108th Lane, and Avocet Street near 111th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for the week of June 15 includes completion of watermain valve and hydrant replacements in project area 4 (streets east of East River Road – 89^th Avenue, Norway Street, and 86^th Avenue). Curb removals and reinstallations are also planned to take place next week in Area 4.

Watermain valve and hydrants replacements are expected to begin Wednesday of next week in Area 1 (Avocet Street, 109^th and 111^th Avenue, 109^th Lane, and Xeon Street). These utility replacements will require daytime water shut offs.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-2 – 2.3 miles of local and MSA streets (streets near 113^th Avenue and Crooked Lake Boulevard, Crooked Lake Boulevard north of Northdale Boulevard to Gladiola Street, and Riverdale Drive and Northdale Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is Douglas Kerr Underground. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-515-0046. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for the week of June 15 includes new watermain construction on 113^th Avenue. Pavement reclamation and concrete removals, temporary mailbox installations, and tree removals are planned for Crooked Lake Boulevard.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-3 – 2.3 University Avenue north of Main Street (City of Blaine Project)

This project is being administered by the City of Blaine. The Contractor for this project is Dresel Contracting. Project contact information and schedule will be sent via US Mail and posted on the City of Coon Rapids website once available. Anoka County Projects – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass, and Hanson Boulevard from Northdale Boulevard (CSAH 11) to Main Street (CSAH 14)
