Coon Rapids Boulevard Reconstruction Project 18-13 – Reconstruction of Coon Rapids Boulevard from Egret Boulevard to the East River Road/Coon Rapids Boulevard Split

Coon Rapids Boulevard is an Anoka County Highway Department owned and maintained roadway, however this reconstruction project is being led by the City of Coon Rapids. Please direct all questions and concerns regarding this construction project to the City of Coon Rapids Project Manager and City Engineer, Mark Hansen. Mark can be reached at 763-767-6465. The Contractor for this project is S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Joe Miller.

Work planned for the week of June 1 includes the continued full closure of Egret Boulevard south of Coon Rapids Boulevard. The closure of Egret Boulevard is expected to continue all next week as the Contractor places new curb and gutter and asphalt pavement on the street. Avocet Street is expected to reopen late May 29, however will need to close again mid-next week to accommodate proposed curb and gutter on the Port Riverwalk development project. This street will reopen again to traffic by late next week.

Work will continue in the southbound Coon Rapids Boulevard direction, which includes new curb installations. Grading for new curb and widened pavement in the Northbound Coon Rapids Boulevard direction will take place all next week. Bridge rehabilitation work in both the north and southbound directions of Coon Rapids Boulevard over the BNSF railroad tracks and East River Road will continue.

2019 Street Reconstruction Project 19-2 – 2.3 miles of MSA streets (Foley Boulevard from 115^th Avenue to 124^th Avenue, Wedgewood Drive from Main Street to Round Lake Boulevard, Olive Street from 121^st Avenue to Main Street)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction. The Contractor's main contact is Dan Bodza, who can be reached at 612-248-7760 (cell). Work on punchlist and completion items required on Foley Boulevard wrapped up this week.

Please contact the City if there are any outstanding issues with irrigation systems or other items that need to be addressed on these streets.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-1 – 2.6 miles of local City streets (streets near Norway Street and East River Road, 97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street, Norway Street near 107th and 108th Lane, and Avocet Street near 111th Avenue)

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned next week on this project includes watermain valve and hydrant, as well as storm sewer catch basin replacements in project area 4 (streets east of East River Road - 89^th Avenue, Norway Street, and 86^th Avenue).

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-2 – 2.3 miles of local and MSA streets (streets near 113^th Avenue and Crooked Lake Boulevard, Crooked Lake Boulevard north of Northdale Boulevard to Gladiola Street, and Riverdale Drive and Northdale Boulevard)

The Contractor for this project is Douglas Kerr Underground. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-515-0046. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned for next week includes temporary watermain installations on 113^th Avenue.

Anoka County Projects – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass, and Hanson Boulevard from Northdale Boulevard (CSAH 11) to Main Street (CSAH 14)
