Coon Rapids Boulevard Reconstruction Project 18-13 – Reconstruction of Coon Rapids Boulevard from Egret Boulevard to the East River Road/Coon Rapids Boulevard Split

Coon Rapids Boulevard is an Anoka County Highway Department owned and maintained roadway. However, this reconstruction project is being led by the City of Coon Rapids. Please direct all questions and concerns regarding this construction project to the Coon Rapids Project Manager and City Engineer, Mark Hansen. Mark can be reached at 763-767-6465. The Contractor for this project is S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc. The Contractor's main contact is Joe Miller.

Work planned for the week of May 26 includes the full closure of Egret Boulevard south of Coon Rapids Boulevard to accommodate utility and roadway removals. Work will continue in the southbound Coon Rapids Boulevard direction, which includes gravel placement and new curb installations. Removal operations will also take place in the Northbound Coon Rapids Boulevard direction. Bridge rehabilitation work in both the north and southbound directions of Coon Rapids Boulevard over the BNSF railroad tracks and East River Road is expected to continue.

2019 Street Reconstruction Project 19-2 – 2.3 miles of MSA streets (Foley Boulevard from 115^th Avenue to 124^th Avenue, Wedgewood Drive from Main Street to Round Lake Boulevard, Olive Street from 121^st Avenue to Main Street)

The Contractor for this project is Park Construction. The Contractor's main contact is Dan Bodza, who can be reached at 612-248-7760 (cell). Jon Halter with Hakanson Anderson is the City’s full-time project inspector, and can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Jon can be reached at 612-282-0725 (cell).

Work on punchlist and completion items required on Foley Boulevard will continue next week.

Please contact the City if there are any ongoing issues with irrigation systems or other items that need to be addressed on these streets.

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-1 – 2.6 miles of local City streets (streets near Norway Street and East River Road, 97^th Avenue near Yellowpine Street, Norway Street near 107th and 108th Lane, and Avocet Street near 111th Avenue)

Schedule information, frequently asked questions, and project contact information has been provided via US mail. Work on this project is expected to start on May 26. The first area planned for reconstruction consists of streets east of East River Road including 89^th Avenue, Norway Street, and 86^th Avenue.

The Contractor for this project is Northdale Construction. The Contractor’s main contact is Kevin Topp at 320-493-7369. The City’s full-time project inspector is Jason Huebscher who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned next week on this project includes tree removals in all project areas. In addition, work includes daytime water shut downs for valve and hydrant replacements next Thursday and Friday within project Area 4 (streets east of East River Road - 89^th Avenue, Norway Street, and 86^th Avenue).

2020 Street Reconstruction Project 20-2 – 2.3 miles of local and MSA streets (streets near 113^th Avenue and Crooked Lake Boulevard, Crooked Lake Boulevard north of Northdale Boulevard to Gladiola Street, and Riverdale Drive and Northdale Boulevard)

Property owners should have received schedule information, frequently asked questions, and contact information via US mail last week.

The Contractor for this project is Douglas Kerr Underground. The Contractor’s main contact is Ryan Kerr at 320-515-0046. The City’s full-time project inspector is Zach Pfieffer who can be contacted any time to respond to specific questions or concerns. Work planned next week is anticipated to include temporary watermain installations on 113^th Avenue either late in the week or early the following.

Anoka County Projects – Hanson Boulevard (CSAH 78) Railroad Bridge Overpass, and Hanson Boulevard from Northdale Boulevard (CSAH 11) to Main Street (CSAH 14)
