Mask Collection Day
Saturday, April 25
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Coon Rapids fire fighters will be at Fire Station 1, 2 & 3 on Saturday to collect homemade cloth masks from the community. If you have masks to donate or are able to sew masks this week, the fire department will collect them on Saturday and distribute the masks to facilities in need throughout the community.
Bring masks to the following locations:
Station 1 - 1460 Egret Blvd.
Station 2 - 1199 121st Ave. NW
Station 3 - 2831 113th Ave. NW

Gov. Walz and Lt. Gov. Flanagan launched the week-long effort to encourage Minnesotans across the state to create homemade masks for donation. The Governor asked fire departments to deliver the masks to local congregate living facilities for their employees and residents to wear.
The CDC recommends wearing cloth face coverings to protect others from COVID-19. Cloth face masks can help prevent the wearer from infecting others – especially in situations where they may spread the virus without symptoms. Cloth face masks are not a proven way to prevent COVID-19 from infecting the wearer.
