Ready or not... here we snow! A Winter Storm Warning is in effect Tuesday afternoon through Thursday afternoon for the likelihood of 12+ inches of snow by the end of the week, according to the National Weather Service - Twin Cities.
Full Plow Begins at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd.
Snowplow crews will begin a full plow of the city (all streets, curb-to-curb) beginning at 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22nd. A full plow takes several hours to complete and includes all main streets, residential streets and cul-de-sac areas maintained by the City. Multiple rounds of snow will keep City plow crews busy so we ask for the public's help and patience throughout the storm. Please keep parked cars, garbage bins and other items out of the streets until the plows have gone by and cleared streets curb-to-curb.
Sidewalks will be addressed as soon as possible after the full plow is complete. The goal is to clear sidewalks within 48 hours of the full plow.
We expect that additional plowing operations will continue over several days. We will provide new snowplow updates whenever another full plow is scheduled. You can also call the Snowplow Hotline at 763-755-2880 (select menu option 3) or sign up for email updates here: coonrapidsmn.gov/list.aspx. We appreciate everyone's cooperation as we navigate what could be a historic weather week around these parts. Stay alert and safe!
