Free Meal Bags

Photo of meal bags

For the second straight year, the Coon Rapids Fire Department is partnering with the non-profit organization Every Meal to help the hungry this holiday season.

Free meal bags are now available for anyone in need at Fire Station #1 and Fire Station #2 with no questions asked. They are located just inside the front door of both stations and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week through January 3. Each bag includes four to five pounds of nutritious, non-perishable food including a variety of fruits, vegetables, proteins, grains and entrees.

"The Roseville Fire Department was the first fire department that I saw that was doing it and I thought what a great idea," said Aaron Johnston, Assistant Fire Chief of the Coon Rapids Fire Department. "It's low impact for us to have to facilitate and a great upside for the community."

The meals are available to anyone regardless of income or residency. Just grab the meals inside the front entry at both fire stations, there's no need to check in with staff. Fire Station #1 is located at 1460 Egret Blvd. and Station #2 is located at 1199 121st Ave.
