Absentee Voting Information
** IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR VOTERS WITH AN ABSENTEE BALLOT**
By court order, absentee ballots must now arrive by Election Day to ensure they will be counted. Any ballots that come in after Election Day must be separated and may not be counted. Previously, a ballot that was postmarked Nov. 3 would still be counted so long as it arrived by Nov. 10.
If you still have an absentee ballot, please consider dropping it off at your city hall or at the Anoka County Government Center. All locations will be open on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M. and on Monday until 5:00 P.M. The deadline to drop off on Election Day is 3:00 P.M. Otherwise you can vote early or vote at your polling place on Election Day.
If you're unable to vote on Election Day then you may want to vote by absentee ballot.
Anyone who wishes to vote may do so by absentee ballot beginning 46 days before Election Day. For the General Election Tuesday, November 3, absentee voting may begin September 18, 2020. You can mail in your ballot or drop it off at Coon Rapids City Hall, 11155 Robinson Drive during normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
On Election Day (Nov. 3) ballots may be dropped off no later than 3 p.m. at Coon Rapids City Hall.
You may also drop ballots off at the Anoka County Elections Department located at 2100 3rd Ave, Suite C130, Anoka, MN 55303.
Please note: early voting ballots will not be accepted at your Election Day Polling Location.
How to Request a Ballot
Minnesota voters can now request an absentee ballot online through the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State. The service allows voters to apply for an absentee ballot quickly and easily without the need to print, scan forms and return by mail, fax or email.
When absentee voting at City Hall, no campaigning is allowed in the building or within 100 feet of the building. This includes campaign buttons, signs or clothing. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
