Road Maintenance
Much of the work performed by the Coon Rapids Streets Division involves direct maintenance to the City's asphalt surfaced roadways. Minnesota's harsh northern climate is often abusive even to less travelled neighborhood streets with a relentless cycle of freezing and thawing.
Many roads which bear a higher traffic load will need more frequent care and repairs. As a result, throughout the spring, summer, and fall Streets Division crews can be found filling and patching potholes, sealing cracks in street pavement, and repaving larger areas of roadways in need of repair.
If you encounter crews working on roadway please proceed in a cautious manner by slowing down and adhering to the traffic control methods in place during construction.

Other Streets Divsion Responsibilities
The Streets Division is responsible for a variety of maintenance responsibilities not directly associated with road repairs or snow removal including:
- Street sign installation, replacement, and repair
- Streetlight maintenance
- Sidewalk installation, replacement, and repair
- Mowing of street medians and low maintenance Right-Of-Way locations
- Assisting with water main break repairs
To report a street light outage or a traffic sign missing or needing repair, please call Public Works at 763-767-6462.
