Trivia Contest: So You Think you Know Coon Rapids History

Thank you to everyone who participated in the trivia contest. We hope you enjoyed the challenge and learned a little about Coon Rapids' history. The 50th anniversary celebrations will end on Saturday, July 3rd with a Coon Rapids High School all-school reunion at Sand Creek Park, held in conjunction with the July 4th carnival. The Rockin' Hollywoods will perform from 6:45 to 10:45 p.m. under a tent on field #3. There is no admission charge or pre-registration. Food and beverages will be available from the Coon Rapids North Star Lions Club and other carnival vendors.

All 50th apparel (hoodies, pull over, full zip, 1/4 zip, crew sweatshirts, and T-shirts) are now half price. Inventory is available at City Hall. Sizes and certain styles are limited.

Coon Rapids 50th Anniversary Celebration

A volunteer committee of residents, business representatives, civic organizations, City Council and staff are busy planning events to celebrate Coon Rapids’ 50th anniversary of being a city. A year long events calendar is being planned, starting with a kick off concert and ice cream social on Friday, June 12th. Other events include a golf tournament, dances, carnivals and parades, culminating with an all-school reunion on July 3, 2010.
