CDBG Project Application & Guide
The City of Coon Rapids is reprogramming up to $150,000 in 2009 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funding for use on eligible CDBG projects in the City of Coon Rapids. The CDBG program provides project funding allocated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for activities that include physical improvements to public facilities, commercial, industrial and residential buildings and direct economic development assistance to private enterprises. Projects assisted with CDBG funding must meet a national objective of the federal program including benefitting low- or moderate-income persons and/or aiding in the prevention or removal of slum and blighted conditions. The City is proposing to distribute reallocated 2009 program funds to an eligible project or projects through a competitive grant application process. The allocation of funding is regulated by federal program regulations that require the City exclude public service activities from this application process.
